Job summary

Caliberly in Gujarat seeks a Project Manager – Shipbuilding (GM/DGM) to lead end-to-end shipbuilding projects, coordinating engineering, production, procurement, and commercial teams. You will ensure timely delivery, budget adherence, and client satisfaction while maintaining high QHSE standards.

The role requires 10+ years in PM, with at least 5 years in leadership, and strong knowledge of shipbuilding processes. PMP or equivalent is preferred; MBA/PM exposure is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in Project Management or MBA is an advantage.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive project plans covering scope, schedule, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration across project teams.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets.
  • Track expenses and ensure financial accountability.
  • Identify cost overruns and implement corrective actions.
  • Establish and manage change order processes.
  • Ensure all project changes are documented, evaluated, approved, and communicated.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients.
  • Provide regular project updates.
  • Manage client expectations and address project-related concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and client specifications.
  • Conduct quality inspections and audits.
  • Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Promote a safe working environment throughout project execution.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Implement corrective actions for unforeseen challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international maritime regulations and standards.
  • Maintain project documentation including progress reports, change orders, and project deliverables.
  • Present regular project status reports to senior management and clients.
  • Conduct post-project reviews, capture lessons learned, and recommend process improvements for future projects.

Job Summary

The Project Manager – Shipbuilding is responsible for the end-to‑end management of shipbuilding projects, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budget, quality standards, and overall project objectives. The role involves coordinating engineering, production, procurement, commercial, and support functions while maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring seamless project execution.

Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
  • Develop and execute comprehensive project plans covering scope, schedule, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.
