Job summary

Criterion Tech is seeking a Project Manager to drive end-to-end execution across engineering teams. You will understand system architecture well enough to challenge decisions and translate business requirements into technical deliverables, working hands-on in an execution role.

You will coordinate with backend, frontend, and AI/ML teams, facilitating architecture discussions and validating feasibility while maintaining sprint plans and stakeholder updates.

Qualifications

• 4 to 6 years experience in software development project management.
• Hands-on exposure to APIs, backend systems, and frontend workflows.
• Ability to read and understand technical discussions; not required to code.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of product modules and sprint plans.

• Review estimates and challenge assumptions where needed.
• Drive Agile/Scrum execution including planning, standups, and retrospectives.

We are looking for a Project Manager who can drive execution end-to-end, coordinate across engineering teams, and understand system architecture well enough to challenge and refine decisions.

This is a hands-on execution role, not a reporting-only PM position.

Key Responsibilities

Execution Ownership

• Own end-to-end delivery of product modules (planning execution release)
• Break down product requirements into technical tasks, milestones, and sprint plans
• Track progress, identify risks, and ensure timely delivery

Technical Coordination

• Work closely with backend, frontend, and AI/ML teams to ensure alignment
• Translate business requirements into technical deliverables
• Participate in architecture discussions and validate feasibility

Architecture Awareness (Important)

• Understand system design concepts such as:
• Microservices vs monolith
• APIs, integrations, and data flow
• Cloud-based deployments (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Review technical estimates and challenge assumptions where needed

Agile & Process Management

• Drive Agile/Scrum execution (sprint planning, standups, retrospectives)
• Ensure proper usage of tools like:
• Jira
• Confluence
• Maintain clear documentation, sprint metrics, and reporting

Risk & Dependency Management

• Identify delivery risks early and drive mitigation
• Manage inter-team dependencies (frontend/backend/AI)
• Escalate issues proactively with solutions

Stakeholder Communication

• Act as the bridge between product, engineering, and leadership
• Provide clear updates on progress, blockers, and timelines

Required Skills & Experience

• 4 to 6 years experience in software development project management
• Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies
• Hands-on exposure to:
• APIs, backend systems, and frontend workflows
• Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP basics)
• Ability to read and understand technical discussions (no coding required, but tech fluency is critical)
• Experience managing cross-functional engineering teams
