Job summary

Vertiv Co. seeks an experienced MEP Project Manager to lead the design, execution, and commissioning of data center infrastructure with a focus on liquid cooling and high-density deployments.

You will drive end-to-end MEP execution, coordinate with consultants, manage vendors and ensure FAT/SAT/IST, Tier compliance, and on-time delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Deep experience with data center MEP systems and modern cooling technologies.
• Proven ability to lead design, procurement, and commissioning activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end MEP data center execution including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
• Oversee testing and commissioning (ITC) and ensure safety and quality.
• Guide design coordination with consultants and internal teams on load and hydraulics.
• Manage vendors, OEMs, and system integrators to meet timelines.
• Coordinate with chillers, pumps, CDUs, switchgear, UPS, and busways.
• Drive FAT/SAT/IST, ensure compliance with Tier standards and NFPA codes.
• Control project cost and schedule using MS Project/Primavera.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced MEP Project Manager to lead the design, execution, and commissioning of data center infrastructure, with a strong focus on liquid cooling systems and high-density deployments.

This role requires deep expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems along with modern cooling technologies such as direct-to-chip and immersion cooling.

Key Responsibilities

1. MEP Project Execution

• Lead end-to-end execution of data center MEP systems:
  • HVAC (CRAC/CRAH, chillers)
  • Electrical systems (UPS, transformers, DG)
  • Plumbing & fire protection
• Manage installation, testing, and commissioning (ITC)

2. Cooling Systems Leadership

• Manage design & deployment of:
  • Liquid cooling (Direct-to-Chip, Rear Door Heat Exchangers)
  • Immersion cooling systems
  • Cooling Distribution Units (CDUs)
• Ensure integration with traditional air cooling systems
• Optimize for high rack densities (30–100+ kW per rack)

3. Design Coordination

• Work with consultants and design teams on:
  • Load calculations & heat load analysis
  • Piping & hydraulic design
  • Electrical load and redundancy (N+1, 2N)
• Review drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications

4. Vendor & Contractor Management

• Manage MEP contractors, OEMs, and system integrators
• Coordinate with suppliers of:
  • Chillers, pumps, CDUs
  • Switchgear, UPS, busways
• Ensure adherence to timelines, quality, and safety

5. Commissioning & Handover

• Lead:
  • Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
  • Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
  • Integrated Systems Testing (IST)
• Ensure systems meet Tier standards (I–IV) and uptime requirements

6. Compliance & Standards

• Ensure compliance with:
  • ASHRAE TC 9.9 guidelines
  • Uptime Institute Tier Standards
  • NFPA / local codes
• Maintain documentation and audit readiness

7. Cost & Schedule Control

• Develop and track project schedules (MS Project / Primavera)
• Monitor CAPEX and OPEX for MEP systems
• Drive value engineering initiatives

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s / Master’s in Mechanical Engineering

Technical Expertise

• Strong experience in:
  • Data center HVAC systems (CRAC/CRAH, chillers, cooling towers)
  • Electrical infrastructure (UPS, DG, PDU)
  • Liquid cooling technologies

  • Heat transfer & thermodynamics
  • High-density rack cooling challenges
