Job summary

DELTA is seeking a Project Manager for its Mumbai data center cooling projects, including CDU, CRAC/CRAH, chillers, pumps, and precision cooling units. You will collaborate with Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Fire, BMS, and IT teams to ensure on-time delivery within budget while managing risks and documentation.

You will drive planning, procurement, vendor & logistics management, and handover to the service team, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure quality and compliance throughout

Qualifications

• B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical/Mechanical engineering.
• 8-15 years' experience in MEP/Power/HVAC project management.
• PMP, Prince2, CDCP or similar DC certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the complete project lifecycle from award to handover.
• Prepare detailed plans, WBS, risk assessments, and mitigations.
• Coordinate with Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Fire, BMS, IT teams.
• Lead installation, testing, commissioning of cooling equipment.
• Drive budget control, cost tracking, and P&L adherence.
• Consolidate service inputs for retrofits, warranty, and aftersales.
• Conduct KickOff and regular stakeholder progress updates.
• Ensure EHS compliance and maintain project documentation.

Position Level: Project Manager / Sr. Project Manager/AGM Projects
Function: Project Management
Reports To: Project Head
Location : Mumbai

Role Purpose

To independently manage and deliver Data Center infrastructure projects involving CDU ,CRAC, RDHX, Chilled Water/ DX Cooling, Precision cooling units, Secondary fluid piping network and associated electromechanical works.
The role will ensure Ontime time delivery, budget adherence, risk management, Change Management ,Stakeholders Management , documentation, and integration with Service team for aftersales deliverables.

Core Responsibilities

A. Project Planning & Execution

• Own the complete project lifecycle from project award to handover.
• Prepare detailed project plans, work breakdown structures (WBS), risk assessment, and mitigation plans.
• Develop and track procurement plans, resource allocation, and installation schedules.
• Coordinate with Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Fire, BMS, and IT teams for integrated execution.
• Review engineering drawings (SLD, GA, Layouts, P&AIDs) and ensure compliance with specifications.

B. Cooling System Delivery

• Lead installation, testing, and commissioning of switchgear, and all cooling equipment (CRAC/CRAH, Chillers, CDU, pumps & Secondary piping ).
• Validate BOQs, method statements, quality benchmarks, and site readiness.
• Manage vendor engineers, subcontractors, and installation partners for smooth execution.

C. Procurement, Vendor & Logistics Management

• Prepare procurement specifications and coordinate with SCM for order placement.
• Track shipment timelines, import documentation (if applicable), logistics, and delivery to site.
• Evaluate vendor performance on quality, delivery, and responsiveness.

D. Financial Management

• Drive budget control, cost tracking, billing milestones, cash flow planning, and project P&L adherence.
• Prepare variation claims, change orders, and customer approvals where required.

E. Collaboration with Service Business

• Consolidate Service team manpower, material, and cost inputs for service opportunities
• Provide execution support for retrofits, warranty, and aftersales installations.
• Coordinate handovers to service teams with complete system documentation.

F. Customer & Stakeholder Management

• Conduct KickOff, review meetings, weekly/ monthly progress updates.
• Ensure proactive communication with customers, consultants, OEMs, and internal stakeholders.
• Manage escalations promptly and ensure customer satisfaction across project phases.

G. Compliance, Safety & Documentation

• Ensure adherence to EHS, quality control, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Maintain project documentation:
• WBS, project plans, schedules
• Technical drawings & approvals
• MS, MSRA, MOS, inspection checklists
• FAT/SAT/commissioning reports
• Final handover dossier

Functional Competencies

• Expertise in UPS power systems, batteries, LV panels, PDUs, and cooling systems.
• Strong MEP project execution knowledge.
• Good understanding of civil interfacing for data centers
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of MS Project / Primavera.
