The Project Management area is responsible for leading a team, typically cross-functional teams, to achieve project goals and requirements. Work with project teams and stakeholders to plan, execute, monitor, and control the project. Manage resources, budget, cost, time, quality, risks and other constraints.
The Global Service Delivery Project Management team is to provide a professional project management service supporting the Global Service Delivery and Processing Operations organisations for the delivery of projects within the Payment, Financial and Telecoms divisions. The Project Manager will manage projects requiring provision and implementation of services. These projects are derived from two sources, customers and internally. The Project Manager is expected to manage multiple concurrent projects and to have full control of those projects during their entire lifecycle. The Project Manager will work with guidance and supervision from the management team. Projects range in size from a week to many months. In most cases the Project Manager will be heavily reliant on specialist teams to deliver their work, therefore people management is key. This does not rule out the possibility, on occasions, of Project Managers having technical input and ownership where their skills suit. The Project Manager has the authority to run the project on a day-to-day basis on behalf of the Project Sponsors within the constraints laid down by them. Prime responsibility is to ensure that the project produces the required deliverables, to the required standard of quality and within the specified constraints of time and cost. Whilst a managed and structured approach to Project Management is required, this should not be a limiting FRctor. The Project Manager, with the support of the Management team must be capable of selecting the appropriate project controls on a per project basis bearing in mind the FRst paced environment we operate within.
