Job summary

Rotex Automation Limited in Vadodara seeks an Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – Project Management to lead automotive NPD projects, plan and monitor milestones, and coordinate cross-functional teams across Design, Quality, Manufacturing, and Suppliers.

You will drive reviews, manage changes, monitor prototype development and PPAP readiness, and ensure timely delivery within budgets. 5–10 years of automotive experience with APQP/PPAP is preferred. PMP/APQP/PPAP certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple automotive NPD projects with plans, WBS, Gantt charts and milestones.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams across Design, Quality, Manufacturing, Purchase, Tool Room, Testing, Production, Suppliers and Sales.
• Drive reviews, requirements, approvals, open points and escalations.
• Monitor prototype development, tooling, testing, validation and SOP readiness.
• Identify risks, maintain action/risk registers and drive recovery plans.
• Manage engineering and customer changes and related cost/timing impacts.
• Track budgets, tooling, development costs and supplier milestones; prepare management reports.

Position: Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – Project Management

Reporting To: Head – NPD / Project Management

Key Responsibilities

• Lead multiple automotive NPD projects and manage project plans, WBS, Gantt charts, milestones and critical paths.
• Coordinate with Design, Quality, Manufacturing, Purchase, Tool Room, Testing, Production, Suppliers and Sales teams.
• Drive customer reviews, requirements, approvals, open points and escalations.
• Monitor prototype development, tooling, testing, validation, PPAP and SOP readiness.
• Identify project risks and issues, maintain action and risk registers, and drive recovery plans.
• Manage engineering and customer changes, including their impact on cost, timing, tooling and validation.
• Track project budgets, tooling and development costs, supplier milestones, and prepare management reports.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Automotive PDS and APQP
• PPAP, DFMEA/PFMEA, Control Plan, Process Flow, DVP&R, MSA and SPC
• Working knowledge of IATF 16949, VDA FMEA and VDA 6.3
• Product development, prototype development, testing and validation
• Engineering Change Management and supplier APQP/development
• Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project/equivalent
• SAP, PLM/PDM and Power BI will be an added advantage.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a professional with 5–10 years of automotive experience, preferably with 3+ years in NPD / Project Management. Experience with automotive OEM/Tier-1 customers and hands-on APQP/PPAP and product development experience will be valuable.

Preferred certifications include PMP, APQP/PPAP, VDA FMEA, IATF 16949 Internal Auditor and VDA 6.3.
