Job description

The Project Manager ensures the successful execution of data-related projects by holding the team and Technical Lead accountable for delivery, managing risks, tracking scope, budget, and timeline, and aligning stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. While the Technical Lead leads the technical team and execution, the Project Manager ensures that all commitments are met, issues are proactively managed, and the client's experience remains smooth.

Success in this role will look like:

• Project Execution & Accountability
  • Drive projects from initiation to closure, ensuring timely, on-budget, and high-quality delivery
  • Hold the Technical Lead and team accountable for deliverables, ensuring alignment with project scope and commitments
  • Proactively track progress, raise risks, and ensure resolutions are in place
• Scope, Timeline & Budget Oversight
  • Monitor project scope and prevent scope creep while ensuring that all deliverables are met
  • Manage project schedules, dependencies, and milestones, keeping teams aligned
  • Track project budget utilization, flag overruns early, and ensure financial alignment with progress
• Stakeholder & Client Management
  • Act as the primary liaison between the client, Technical Lead, and internal teams, ensuring transparency and expectation of alignment
  • Lead client-facing meetings, including status updates, issue resolution discussions, and milestone signoffs
  • Build strong client relationships by ensuring consistent communication and proactive problem‑solving
  • Collaborate with the Account Management team to provide status updates and identified opportunities
• Risk & Issue Management
  • Identify risks early, hold the team accountable for mitigation plans, and elevate unresolved issues before they impact delivery
  • Ensure the Technical Lead and engineers address blockers that could impact project success
• Project Coordination & Reporting
  • Ensure seamless coordination between project stakeholders, including Technical Leads, engineers, and client teams
  • Provide structured updates on project health, risks, and next steps, ensuring leadership and clients remain informed
  • Organize collaborative sessions, including discovery workshops, demos, and feedback cycles

You will thrive in this position if:

• 3+ years of experience in project management for data-related projects (data engineering, analytics, or data science)
• Experience in a consulting environment, working directly with external clients
• Strong understanding of data projects delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Kanban) and how they apply to data projects
• Ability to track and manage project budgets, risks, and dependencies while holding teams accountable
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including experience working with senior leadership on client teams
• Preferred: MBA or PMP certification
• Bonus: Background in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or Analytics

Mandatory Qualifications

• Ability to work 3PM-12AM IST in Hyderabad Office
