Job summary

Tekskills seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead end-to-end technology transformation initiatives in the banking sector. You will plan, coordinate, and drive delivery across cross-functional teams to meet timelines, budget, and quality standards.

You will apply both waterfall and agile approaches, manage budgets and risks, and report to senior stakeholders. Strong communication and banking domain knowledge are essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of technology transformation projects within banking, ensuring timelines, budget, and quality.
• Develop comprehensive project plans (scope, resources, risk, comms) for banking tech initiatives.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of banking products (loans, deposits, payments, trade finance).
• Collaborate with diverse teams—technology, business stakeholders, and vendors—in banking projects.
• Apply waterfall and agile (Scrum/Kanban) to manage execution and adapt to evolving banking requirements.
• Identify and mitigate risks and issues in banking tech implementations to minimize disruption.
• Manage budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effectiveness in banking projects.
• Communicate and report project status to senior management and stakeholders in banking contexts.
• Ensure compliance with banking regulations, security standards, and internal policies.
• Foster collaboration, mentor team, promote best practices in banking tech delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement in PM processes using banking project learnings.
• Act as Scrum Master when required, facilitating ceremonies and removing impediments.
• Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills to draft and explain data to stakeholders.

• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, risk management, and communication strategies, tailored to banking technology initiatives.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of banking products (e.g., loans, deposits, payments, trade finance)
• Effectively manage and collaborate with diverse teams, including technology development, business stakeholders, and external vendors, within a banking context.
• Apply both waterfall and agile (Scrum/Kanban) methodologies as appropriate to manage project execution and adapt to evolving requirements in a dynamic banking environment.
• Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate project risks and issues specific to banking technology implementations, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effectiveness throughout the project lifecycle, with a keen understanding of financial implications within a banking institution.
• Facilitate effective communication and reporting to senior management and stakeholders on project status, progress, and potential roadblocks, tailored to a banking audience.
• Ensure compliance with relevant banking regulations, security standards, and internal policies during project execution.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performing project team environment, mentoring junior team members and promoting best practices in banking technology project delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement in project management processes and methodologies within the organization, incorporating learnings from past banking projects.
• Act as a Scrum Master when required, facilitating agile ceremonies, removing impediments, and ensuring the team adheres to agile principles for relevant projects.
• Excellent excel and power point skills a must to be able to draft and explain data and business problems, updates to stakeholders and team.
