Job summary

Tawteen in India seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead wastewater projects from planning through handover. You will manage multidisciplinary teams, budgets, schedules, risks, and regulatory compliance to deliver contractual objectives.

The role emphasizes leadership, stakeholder management, and rigorous reporting, with a track record in large-scale water treatment or sewerage systems and strong familiarity with project controls and procurement processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 20–25 years total experience; 15–18 years in wastewater projects.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale contracts or construction supervision of wastewater systems.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certifications are a plus.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to the NDS project team & OE.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Monitor project progress, budget, KPIs, and contractor performance.
  • Administer and manage contracts in accordance with approved terms and conditions.
  • Review variations, claims, cost estimates, and financial implications of proposed changes.
  • Monitor project budgets, cash flow, and expenditure control.
  • Oversee design reviews, technical submissions, method statements, and engineering deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide strategic guidance on optimization, rehabilitation, and expansion projects.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between Client, Contractors, Consultants, and Regulatory Authorities.
  • Attend and lead progress meetings, technical reviews, and coordination sessions.
  • Prepare and submit executive reports to senior management and committees.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Lead value engineering initiatives and long-term strategic planning for wastewater infrastructure.
  • Evaluate feasibility, return on investment, and lifecycle cost analysis for projects.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to engineering and operations staff.
  • Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and record keeping.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by NDS management as required.

Job description

The Project Manager shall be responsible for the overall planning, execution, supervision, coordination, and successful delivery of wastewater projects contracts. The role involves leading multidisciplinary teams, managing budgets and schedules, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining stakeholder coordination, and achieving contractual performance objectives in line with organizational goals.

The Project Manager shall be responsible for the overall management, coordination, and successful delivery of all ongoing and planned wastewater projects and contracts, from the initial planning stage through to project handover. This shall include ensuring the provision of all necessary support required for effective operations and maintenance. The responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

Desired Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor s Degree in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 20 - 25 years of overall professional experience.
  • At least 15 - 18 years experience in wastewater projects.
  • Proven experience in managing large scale contracts and/or construction supervision of wastewater systems.
  • The Experience should be but not limited to the Water reclamation plant /Sewage Treatment Plant, Sewer Network, TSE Network & Emergency outfall.
  • Well versed knowledge with ORACLE project management and costing module.
  • Strong knowledge of contract management, procurement procedures, and project controls.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
  • Strong leadership, decision making, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and reporting abilities.
  • Strong analytical, financial management, and risk assessment capabilities.
  • Good understanding of HSE regulations, statutory requirements, and quality management systems (ISO standards).
