Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking an experienced Project Manager for the High Voltage portfolio in Savli, India. You will oversee GIS, HGIS, and DTB substation projects through the full lifecycle, coordinating engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and site execution to meet schedule, cost, and quality targets.

You will act as the primary customer interface, drive risk management, and lead cross-functional teams to deliver on contractual obligations while upholding safety, integrity, and Hitachi

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 12–16 years in turnkey EPC/GIS/AIS substation PM.
• HV switchgear industry experience preferred.
• Strong PM lifecycle knowledge: PMBOK and PMP.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA, MS Office, MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Establish the overall project execution strategy and lead projects from handover through successful completion, customer acceptance, and project closure.
• Manage and execute domestic and export customer projects, ensuring full compliance with contractual, commercial, logistics, global trade compliance, export control, customs, documentation, taxation, and customer-specific requirements while delivering project objectives related to schedule, quality, cost, cash flow, and customer satisfaction.
• Drive project performance by effectively managing schedules, milestones, resource utilization, quality, and delivery commitments.
• Monitor and control project financials, including revenue recognition, invoicing, cash collection, cost management, profitability, and cash flow.
• Identify, assess, and proactively manage project risks, opportunities, claims, variations, and change orders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and site execution activities to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Act as the primary customer interface and escalation point for all project-related matters, ensuring timely resolution of issues and effective stakeholder communication.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and key internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives and business priorities.
• Ensure successful completion of project close-out activities, including contractual closure, final documentation, lessons learned, and customer acceptance.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships to enhance customer satisfaction, repeat business, and long-term growth opportunities.
• Coach and support project team members while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project execution effectiveness, efficiency, and customer experience.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Hitachi Energy is looking for a Project Manager for the High Voltage Business unit covering Gas Insulated Switchgear, Hybrid Gas Insulated Switchgear and Dead Tank Breaker product portfolio in Savli, Vadodara. The Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution of GIS Projects, HGIS & DTB orders execution throughout the entire project lifecycle. This role ensures that all project activities are executed in compliance with contractual requirements, company policies, quality standards, HSE regulations, financial objectives, and delivery commitments.

Your background

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 12 to 16 years of experience in Project Management of Turnkey EPC, GIS or AIS Substation projects.
• High Voltage Switchgear industry experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of project management life cycle, PMBOK and PMP practices.
• PMP certification or formal PM training preferred.
• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, MS Office, MS Project.
• Knowledge of substations, Gas Insulated Switchgear and power system projects.
• Good understanding of taxation, invoicing processes and export documentation.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical ability, problem-solving skills and execution focus.
• Self-motivated, collaborative and capable of working across multicultural teams.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
