Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Savli, Vadodara is seeking an Associate Project Manager to support GIS, HGIS, and DTB projects through the full lifecycle. This role interfaces with engineering, planning, supply chain, and site teams to meet contractual, quality, and delivery requirements.

The candidate should have a degree in Electrical Engineering and 6–9 years in EPC/GIS/AIS project management, with PMP or PM training preferred and SAP S/4HANA experience.

The opportunity:

Hitachi Energy is looking for an Associate Project Manager for the High Voltage Business Unit covering Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), Hybrid GIS (HGIS), and Dead Tank Breaker (DTB) product portfolio in Savli, Vadodara.

The Associate Project Manager will support the execution of GIS Projects, HGIS & DTB orders throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, company policies, quality standards, HSE regulations, and delivery commitments while meeting customer expectations.

How you’ll make an impact:

• Support project execution from order handover through successful delivery and customer acceptance.


• Coordinate domestic and export customer projects, ensuring compliance with contractual, logistics, documentation, and customer-specific requirements while delivering project objectives related to schedule, quality, cost, cash flow, and customer satisfaction.


• Track project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and resource utilization to support on‑time project completion.


• Monitor project progress and manage project costs, invoicing, cash collection, and reporting activities.


• Identify project risks and issues, elevate concerns proactively, and support implementation of mitigation actions.


• Coordinate with engineering, planning, supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, and site teams to ensure smooth project execution.


• Act as the primary customer interface and escalation point for all project‑related matters, ensuring timely resolution of issues and effective stakeholder communication.


• Support preparation and review of export documentation, shipping schedules, and customer documentation requirements.


• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and key internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives and business priorities.


• Ensure successful completion of project close‑out activities, including contractual closure, final documentation, lessons learned, and customer acceptance.


• Build and maintain strong customer relationships to enhance customer satisfaction, repeat business, and long‑term growth opportunities.


• Support continuous improvement initiatives and project management best practices.


• Responsiblefor ensuringcompliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.


• 6 to 9 years of experience in Project Management of EPC, GIS or AIS Substation projects.


• High Voltage Switchgear industry experience preferred.


• Good understanding of project management processes and project lifecycle management.


• PMP certification or formal PM training preferred


• Hands‑on experience with SAP S/4HANA, MS Office, MS Project.


• Knowledge of substations, Gas Insulated Switchgear and power system projects.


• Familiarity with project financials, invoicing processes, and export documentation.


• Strong coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills.


• Good analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a strong execution focus.


• Self‑motivated team player with the ability to work in a cross‑functional and multicultural environment.


• Self‑motivated, collaborative and capable of working across multicultural teams.


• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
