Job summary

SYSTRA India, Bengaluru, invites a Senior Highway Design Lead to drive complex highway projects. You will oversee multidisciplinary teams, ensure design integrity, and deliver on-time, within budget, and to client standards.

Busin ess objectives demand strong leadership in a fast-paced consultancy setting. Required M.Tech in Civil Engineering (Transportation) with 21+ years in highway engineering and 10+ years in the Middle East.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years’ experience in highway engineering and project delivery.
• At least 10 years’ experience in Middle East projects.
• Strong knowledge of highway design and contract conditions.
• Proficient in design software and BIM/CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the successful delivery of complex highway projects, ensuring client expectations, technical standards, and business objectives are met.
• Develop and implement highway engineering solutions across multidisciplinary projects.
• Ensure designs are efficient, compliant, buildable, and aligned with client and stakeholder requirements.
• Manage, mentor, coach, and review Highway Team members to strengthen capability and support business objectives.
• Direct projects from inception to completion, managing resources, priorities, programme, budget, and quality.
• Act as design deliverables checker and Highway Contractor’s Responsible Engineer (CRE) where required.
• Ensure technical accuracy, design assurance, and compliance with engineering and safety standards.
• Deliver agreed client scope in line with contractual requirements, project objectives, and industry best practice.
• Prepare progress, performance, and risk reports for leadership and project management teams.
• Achieve utilisation, budget, profitability, and on-time delivery targets.
• Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams.
• Promote compliance with ethics, health and safety, and ISO standards.
