Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support AIS circuit breakers across sites in India. You will perform installation, commissioning, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, repair and modifications to HV circuit breakers.

The role requires reading electrical and mechanical drawings, hands-on installation at substations, and travel up to 80% within India (and possibly abroad). Strong communication and ability to document field reports are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or diploma in Electrical and/or Mechanical Technology or a highly related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience manufacturing; field experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% within India and, if required, outside India.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation and initial starts-ups.
• Perform mechanical work in electrical substations; inspect equipment, structures, and materials at sites.
• Service, repair, and adjust components of equipment guided by mechanical principles.
• Analyze information and evaluate results to resolve customer issues.
• Perform physical activities requiring dexterity and agility.
• Complete paperwork in a timely and accurate manner including Field Service Reports, timecards and expense reports.
• Interface between GE Vernova and customer.

Job Description

Field Service Support engineer will perform Installation, Commissioning, Electromechanical Troubleshooting, Repair/Adjustments and Modifications to GEV High Voltage Circuit Breakers.

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform Installation and initial starts-ups.
• Perform mechanical work in electrical substations. Inspects equipment, structures, and materials at designated sites to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects
• Services, repairs, and adjusts, parts of equipment that operates largely based on mechanical principles
• Analyzes information and evaluates results to select the best solution and resolve customer issues
• Performs physical activities that requires considerable dexterity and agility
• Complete paperwork in a timely and accurate manner including Field Service Reports, timecards and expense reports
• Interface between the GE and Customer

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree OR Diploma in Electrical and or Mechanical Technology or a highly related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience manufacturing (preference given to field experience)
• Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 80% of the time within India nd if required outside India

Desired Characteristics

• Preferred experience in troubleshooting & repair of electrical control circuits
• Preferred experience in mechanical assembly of circuit breakers
