Job summary

Siemens in Goa, India is looking for an experienced engineer specializing in MV distribution systems. Responsibilities include validating engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with IEC standards, and actively participating in FAT/SAT activities. The ideal candidate will have 12-15 years of experience in control & protection and at least 4 years in MV GIS switchgear or CRP engineering, along with proficiency in AutoCAD and EPLAN.

Job description

• Review and validate engineering deliverables including GA, SLD, schematics, CT/PT calculations, AC/DC calculations, GTP, TTR, and signal lists.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as IEC 62271-100 and IEC 62271-200, including type and routine testing requirements.
• Support and participate in FAT/SAT activities to ensure quality and design adherence.
• Understand customer requirements and provide technically sound design solutions.
• Present, justify, and defend engineering designs during customer discussions and approvals.
• Work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure timely project execution.
• Monitor, maintain, and report engineering KPIs and quality objectives.
• Drive adherence to project timelines with minimal supervision.
• Travel within India for customer meetings and drawing approvals, as required.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
• 12–15 years of experience in MV distribution systems with a focus on control & protection.
• Minimum 4 years of hands‑on experience in MV GIS switchgear or Control & Relay Panel (CRP) engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and EPLAN for electrical drawing preparation and modification.
• Strong knowledge of substation automation systems and communication architectures.
• Solid understanding of engineering calculations (CT/PT, AC/DC systems) and documentation.
• Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into effective engineering solutions.
• Self‑driven, detail‑oriented, and capable of working independently.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
