Job summary

AECOM India Private Limited is seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer to join the Environment team on-site in Chennai. The role requires leading environmental data collection, performing LCA, and delivering environmental reports and management plans.

The ideal candidate will have a Masters in an environmental field and at least 8 years of relevant experience, with a focus on regulatory compliance, waste management, and ESG strategy.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in environmental discipline required.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in environmental sector.
• Experience in site visits, data collection and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site visits and collect primary/secondary environmental data.
• Perform Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and analyze results.
• Develop and implement solid waste management plans and compliance measures.
• Assess environmental impacts and propose mitigation strategies.
• Prepare environmental reports and EMPs (Environmental Management Plans).
• Prepare applications for statutory clearances and permits.
• Contribute to ESG strategy development and reporting.
• Engage stakeholders and support proposal preparation.

Job Description

• Masters in Environmental Engineering / Environmental Science/ Environmental Management/ Environmental Sustainability
• Minimum 8 years of experience in the Environmental Sector
• Site visit, data collection and analysis of primary and secondary data
• Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
• Solid Waste Management and Compliances
• Circular Economy
• Air Quality Modelling and mitigation measures
• Assessment of environmental impacts and provide mitigation measures
• Preparation of Environmental report and EMP
• Prepare application for Statutory Clearances and Consent to Establish/ Operate
• Preparation of ESG strategy and reporting
• Stakeholder consultations, workshops, and trainings
• Support in preparation proposals
• Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
• Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
