Job summary

AECOM is seeking a senior civil engineer in India to support design, planning, and coordination of complex infrastructure projects. You will lead design teams, ensure QA/QC, and prepare contract drawings and specifications.

The role requires 6–10 years of experience, strong knowledge of Indian codes, and familiarity with US/BS/Eurocodes. Proficiency with Sewer Gem, Water GEM, Civil 3D and AutoCAD is essential, with scripting and Rhino/Grasshopper/Python a plus.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of experience on projects similar in function, size and scope.
• Knowledge of Indian codes mandatory; familiarity with US/BS/Eurocodes a plus.
• Site grading layouts, site development, storm water and sanitary sewer designs; underground drainage and tankage layouts.
• Proficiency with Civil/3D, AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Willingness to programming/macros & Excel design sheets; Rhino/Grasshopper/Python a plus.

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Support the team for design, coordination, planning and completion of engineering projects.
• Communicate with seniors to understand project requirements.
• Plan and formulate approach to tasks according to project requirements.
• Manage project design and deliverables as well as other design team members, supervise the work of junior engineers and modelers, and direct project staff in preparing contract documents such as drawings and specifications.
• Checking of work being done and modifying workplans to ensure QA/QC is always maintained.
• Monitor and control the time spent for the different tasks in the project to avoid time over-run.
• Explore ways to automate repetitive work and support computational design efforts in the office.
• Assist seniors with project delivery as required.

Requirements

• 6 to 10 years of experience with projects similar in function, size and scope to the description above.
• Knowledge of Indian codes is mandatory. Familiarity with US, BS, Eurocodes is a plus.
• Prepare Site Grading Layouts, site development work, site Design and preparation of Storm water drainage layouts, sanitary sewer system, Underground gravity drainages and chemical sewer system, tankage area layout,
• Working knowledge of current industry software, including Sewer Gem, Water GEM, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
• Willingness for programming, macros & Excel design sheets is desirable, though not mandatory
• Interest in working with Rhino, Grasshopper, Python coding will be a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Time management and people management skills will be valuable.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree (Master’s preferred) in civil engineering/Hydraulics /environmental engineering or related field.
