Job summary

Honeywell is seeking a Project Engineer Specialist II to oversee end-to-end project management in a fast-paced environment. You will mentor junior colleagues, supervise team members, and ensure timely and accurate delivery for internal and external clients.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in Supplier Transition or Strategic Sourcing within Supply Chain.
  • Experience working in a global team environment.

  • Problem solving skill set.
  • English proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, drive and execute CE Transition projects, sourcing cost reduction in a cross-functional environment with Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, Manufacturing and OM.
  • Initiatives include supplier transfer to high-growth regions, supply base optimization and value engineering changes.
  • Build a solid pipeline of projects through new ideas and collaboration with procurement.
  • Develop solid business cases and execute projects, track productivity until completion.
  • Perform risk management to identify and minimize issues in project execution.
  • Establish relationships with stakeholders on the GBE and elevate project barriers and delays.
  • Lead productivity workshops to increase the pipeline of projects and close gaps.

Honeywell's Value Engineering (VE) and Component Engineering (CE) Center of Excellence (COE) is a dynamic collective of professionals dedicated to refining product development through innovative engineering and strategic component selection. Working in tandem with GBE's Engineering and Procurement teams, the VE/CE COE is a global entity tasked with the critical mission of enhancing product margins and driving productivity, thereby securing Honeywell's competitive edge in the global market. Our mandate spans across all Strategic Business Groups (SBGs), except for AERO, ensuring that value engineering and component engineering principles are consistently applied to deliver tangible savings and superior products. As a hub of flexibility and rapid adaptation, the VE/CE COE is Honeywell's strategic response to the "ever-evolving" marketplace demands.

Your role will include overseeing, supervising and reviewing tasks performed by team members to ensure effective execution of work; managing end-to-end processes and projects for both internal and external clients with responsibility for timely and accurate delivery; issuing clear instructions and directions to team members on tasks to be performed; and mentoring and guiding junior colleagues to Support their skill development, professional growth, and overall success.

Position Description
  • As a Project Engineer Specialist II, you will have a strong understanding of project management activities, including the end-to-end project management process in a fast-paced, complex business environment.
  • You will work within a team of collaborative colleagues, working on high-impact projects that move the business forward.
  • You will help your team meet deadlines, track, monitor, and summarize the progress of projects, and prepare reports for senior leadership regarding the status and project of the project.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, drive, and execute CE Transition projects, sourcing cost reduction projects in a cross-functional environment, working with Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, Manufacturing, and OM to ensure project execution (meet deadlines) and implementation. Drive and execute the CE transition projects in a cross-functional environment
  • Initiatives of projects include supplier transfer to high-growth regions, supply base optimization, supply risk mitigation, and value engineering changes, among others.
  • This position is responsible for building a solid pipeline of projects through new ideas development and strong cooperation with the procurement organization.
  • Development of solid business cases and execution of projects, productivity tracking until the project is implemented.
  • Perform risk management to identify and minimize issues in project execution.
  • Establish a relationship with stakeholders on the GBE and elevate project barriers and delays.
  • Lead productivity workshops to increase the pipeline of projects to close the gap.
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE:
  • Minimum 3+ Supplier Transition Project Manager/Strategic Sourcing/Supply Chain areas/commodity sourcing
  • Experience working in a global Team Environment
  • Project Management and/or Contract Management Experience
  • Good decision-making; uses analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment in making sound decisions
  • Global Sourcing experience
  • Problem solving skill set
  • English Proficient

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically but detailed oriented to support ideology with facts
