Be part of the Program Management Office (PMO) that is integral to our Honeywell Connected Enterprise (HCE) portfolio with responsibility over Engineering Operations across all our global sites determining Management Operating Systems (MOS) and implementing best practices for elements such as: Strategic Planning (STRAP), Annual Operating Plans (AOP), life cycle management, metrics, scrum, and agile techniques that supports the development and integration of highly complex software functions within HCE. You will partner with world class engineering and leaders to implement product strategies, develop program schedules and milestones, and define technology. You will also generate innovative solutions in work situations; trying different and novel ways to deal with problems and opportunities.

You will partner with world class engineering and leaders to implement product strategies, develop program schedules and milestones, and define technology. You will also generate innovative solutions in work situations; trying different and novel ways to deal with problems and opportunities.

The Senior Advanced Project Engineer will assist in creating and executing on Connected Enterprise engineering management operating system, manage projects as required, and contribute to strategy deployment of Connected Enterprise business. This position will provide support for a variety of products, processes, and system development programs across customer platforms. You will be responsible for programs including technical, financial, and organizational elements.

You will work in close coordination with the PMO, technical managers, software engineers as well as support functions. You will be responsible for close interaction and support of strategic business initiatives including proposal development, strategic planning and customer support and product development. You will achieve breakthrough improvements in program performance through development and deployment of cost effective and proactive processes.

Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Generate and implement MOS, programs and other requirements using SAFe and CCMI techniques;
  • Understand and support both the Support strategic planning (STRAP) and annual operation plan (AOP) and are comfortable assisting in formally establishing these processes
  • Understands the SW development life cycle, both waterfall and agile.
  • Oversee various portfolios and/or programs focusing on PI iterations and sprints stages.
  • Employ PM tools and development processes, including statement-of-work (SOW), work-breakdown- structure (WBS), basis-of-estimate (BOE) management, scope / requirements management, scheduling, and cost management
  • In an agile fashion - Execute on scope, schedule, cost, delivery, and quality while demonstrating program management skills in the following areas:
    • Portfolio Backlog management; PI Requirements Management and Fulfillment; Planning / Estimation, including resource, material, capital, and other needs
    • Scheduling, including resource-loading and critical path analysis for any assigned projects
    • Financials (ex. RDE, spend, forecast, variance); Risk Management (Identification & Mitigation);
    • Reporting / Reviews, and Communications;
  • Collaboration ... capability to work across and influence multiple groups;
  • Facilitate forecasting and capacity analysis related to delivery requirements
  • Establish and maintain the channels of communication necessary to assure timely management awareness of program progress and issues, including external communications
  • Consistently present programmatic details, requirements, and status to (senior) leadership, technical, and functional audiences

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 5-6 years of software program management experience; managing complex projects or multiple projects combined into a program with demonstrated success.
  • 5-6 years technical product development.
  • 4 years of experience managing the development of one or more enterprise class software development projects.
  • 4 years of experience in leading programs utilizing the Agile product development process.
WE VALUE
  • Minimum 5-6 years of relevant engineering and program management experience with a track record of delivering successful results on significant, well tracked software, mechanical, electronics and/or services programs.
  • Experience in all aspects of the engineering development life cycle, and program management including key Agile tools and techniques such as scrum, Kanban, sprints, epics, and story point estimating.
  • Advanced Degree (MBA, Engr).
  • Scaled Agile Framework - SAFe Certification.
  • PMP, Agile Certification (scrum master PSM, CSM) or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Tools: Jira, Confluence, Other Portfolio/ Program Management Tools (Jira Align, MSFT Project, etc.)
  • Prior experience with SaaS based cloud products.
