Job summary

HITACHI ENERGY INDIA LIMITED invites applications for an LCC engineer role based in Savli, Gujarat. You will join the GIS LCC Secondary team to create electrical circuit diagrams and related documentation, using the E3 tool for schematics.

You will contribute as an individual and collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional teams to complete tasks and resolve queries. The job requires a BE/ Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 2–6 years of experience, strong CAD skills, and good knowledge

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Diploma.
• 2–6 years of experience in relevant roles.
• Excellent knowledge of CAD tools; E3 experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Protection & Control Systems for T&D/Gen.
• Proficient in English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Prepare LCC schematics for High Voltage GIS (66 kV and above).
• Create GIS CB/Disconnector/Earthing/CT & VT schematics.
• Draft JBs for CT, VT, and Density monitors; perform AC/DC load calculations.
• Prepare Interlocking tables and schematics for busbar configurations.
• Address customer queries during project execution and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Interact with Primary, Project Management, and Production departments as needed.
• Self-review documents before submission to Lead Engineer; generate Preliminary BOM.
• Prepare Mimic boards aligned with SLD and Layout drawings.
• Develop Communication Architecture diagrams and Protection schematics when needed.
• Select Bay Control Unit and other protection IEDs at a basic level.
• Create complete Digital LCC drawings for Digital Substation projects.
• Prepare Gas Density monitoring panels using MSM.
• Ensure compliance with codes, QA/QC, and internal/external guidelines.

The Opportunity

You will be a part of the GIS LCC Secondary team and support the execution of LCC engineering. Your work involves mainly creating electrical circuit diagrams and supporting documents. We use the E3 tool for generating the schematics. You will be an individual contributor who would deliver the tasks as per the given inputs and when required need to work in coordination with other colleagues and should exhibit good collaborative skills to complete the task. In the absence of your Lead or in some cases, you will be required to interact with our counterparts to get/clarify queries. You may also interact with other departments like Primary, Project Management, and Production.

How you’ll make an impact

• Preparation of LCC schematics for High Voltage Gas Insulated Switchgear (66 kV and above).
• Preparation of GIS CB / Disconnector / Earthing switch / Fast Acting Earthing switches / CT & VT schematics.
• Preparation of JB’s for CT, VT, and Density monitors, AC / DC Load calculation.
• Preparation of Interlocking table and schematics for various Busbar configurations.
• Addressing the technical queries raised by the customer during the execution of a project, if required.
• Interaction with various cross-function teams like Primary, Project Management, and Production, when required.
• Self-reviewing the documents before submitting them to Lead Engineer 9. Generating Preliminary BOM by understanding the importance and consequences of releasing it.
• Preparation of Mimic boards in line with SLD and Layout drawings.
• Understanding and preparation of Communication Architecture diagrams.
• Preparation of protection schematics (Trafo, Line, Busbar) when we’ve integrated protection in LCC 13. Selection of Bay Control Unit and other protection IEDs (Basic level).
• Preparation of complete Digital LCC drawings as part of Digital Substation (with NCITs, MU’s, SAM600 modules, etc...).
• Preparation of Gas Density monitoring panels using MSM (Modular Switchgear Monitoring).
• Adhering to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications.
• Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

• Bachelor’s degree in B.E / Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Must have 2 -6 years of experience.
• Excellent knowledge of CAD tools (Good experience in e3, not mandatory)
• Very Good knowledge of Protection & Control Systems for T & D / Gen.
• Familiarity with codes and applicable standards like IEC, IEEE, ANSI, etc...
• Basic knowledge of GISAbility to work with multiple discipline projects.
• Ability to work in a team and maintain professionalism.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required
