Job summary

Hitachi Energy India Limited is seeking an Electrical Substation Design Engineer in Gujarat to lead primary design activities for GIS projects. You will read customer specs, define milestones, and prepare SLDs and 3D models for HV GIS equipment, ensuring quality and on-time delivery.

The role requires 3-7 years in substations design, proficiency in ProE/CREO, AutoCAD 3D, SAP MM, and strong knowledge of IEC/IEEE/IS standards, with solid English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with 3-7 years of experience in primary design/engineering of substations, preferably GIS.
• Knowledge of IEC/IEEE/IS standards and hands-on 3D design tools.
• Experience with SAP MM module and GIS project execution processes.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Participate in technical kickoff handover meetings with Project Manager and Tendering.
• Define milestone deliverables: Base Design, BOM, Detail Design per project needs.
• Prepare Electrical and Gas SLD, plan and section drawings from offers and specifications.
• Create 3D modeling of high voltage GIS for substation configurations.
• Deliver all detail design tasks (ratings plates, cable, earthing, civil requirements).

How you’ll make an impact

• Participate in the Technical Kick off handover meetings with Project Manager / Tendering
• Read through the customer specifications and compliance reports as per the customer requirements.
• Define the milestone deliverables (Base Design / BOM / Detail Design) as per the project requirement.
• Preparation of Electrical and Gas SLD, Plan and Section drawings based on various offer / tender and customer specifications.
• Preparation of 3D modelling of high voltage GIS for various substation configuration
• Preparation of Guaranteed technical particulars of GIS and HV equipment such as Breakers, disconnectors, GIB etc. for submission to customer.
• Delivering all the Detail Design Tasks (Rating plates / Cable / Earthing / Civil requirements / As Built etc)
• Execute DtV Process during the Base design phase.
• Contribute to the Margin improvement of the Project.
• Accountable for the On Quality Delivery of the milestones of the project as per the Milestone database
• Preparation of bill of materials (SD BOMs) and release in the SAP as per the Milestone database.Preparation of technical documents for procurement of Current transformers and voltage transformers.
• Participate in customer meetings as required. Active participation in project review meeting
• Supports trouble shooting for factory and onsite issues and provides disposition actions.
• Can do proper root causing analysis for the quality issues.

Your background

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 3-7 years of experience in primary design/engineering of substations, preferably GIS Engineering.
• Knowledge on IEC/IEEE/IS standards.
• Hands on experience in 3D tools like ProE / CREO, AUTOCAD-3D, MSOffice.
• Hands on experience of SAP system (MM module)
• Expertise in GIS Project execution process knowledge will be an added advantage.
• MV/HV substations Design & Engineering knowledge
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language.
