Job summary

Hitachi Energy India invites an electrical engineer to join the GIS LCC Secondary team. You will primarily create electrical circuit diagrams and supporting documents using the E3 tool, coordinating with Primary, Project Management, and Production as needed.

You will deliver LV/HV LCC schematics, interlock tables, and protective schematics while ensuring QA/QC compliance and adherence to IEC/IEEE standards. Strong teamwork and clear English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 2–6 years of experience.
• Excellent knowledge of CAD tools (E3) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and draft LCC schematics for HV GIS (66 kV+).
• Prepare GIS CB, Disconnector, Earthing switch, CT/VT schematics and related layouts.
• Create interlocking tables and busbar configuration schematics.
• Address customer queries and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Review documents before submission to Lead Engineer and generate preliminary BOM.
• Develop Mimic boards aligned with SLD/Layout and communication architecture diagrams.
• Prepare protection schematics and select Bay Control Units/IEDs.
• Produce complete digital LCC drawings for Digital Substation with NCITs, MUs, SAM600 modules.
• Prepare gas density monitoring panels using MSM.

Job description

The Opportunity

You will be a part of the GIS LCC Secondary team and support the execution of LCC engineering. Your work involves mainly creating electrical circuit diagrams and supporting documents. We use the E3 tool for generating the schematics. You will be an individual contributor who would deliver the tasks as per the given inputs and when required need to work in coordination with other colleagues and should exhibit good collaborative skills to complete the task. In the absence of your Lead or in some cases, you will be required to interact with our counterparts to get/clarify queries. You may also interact with other departments like Primary, Project Management, and Production.

How youll make an impact

• Preparation of LCC schematics for High Voltage Gas Insulated Switchgear (66 kV and above).
• Preparation of GIS CB / Disconnector / Earthing switch / Fast Acting Earthing switches / CT VT schematics.
• Preparation of JBs for CT, VT, and Density monitors, AC / DC Load calculation.
• Preparation of Interlocking table and schematics for various Busbar configurations.
• Addressing the technical queries raised by the customer during the execution of a project, if required.
• Interaction with various cross-function teams like Primary, Project Management, and Production, when required.
• Self-reviewing the documents before submitting them to Lead Engineer 9. Generating Preliminary BOM by understanding the importance and consequences of releasing it.
• Preparation of Mimic boards in line with SLD and Layout drawings.
• Understanding and preparation of Communication Architecture diagrams.
• Preparation of protection schematics (Trafo, Line, Busbar) when weve integrated protection in LCC 13. Selection of Bay Control Unit and other protection IEDs (Basic level).
• Preparation of complete Digital LCC drawings as part of Digital Substation (with NCITs, MUs, SAM600 modules, etc...).
• Preparation of Gas Density monitoring panels using MSM (Modular Switchgear Monitoring).
• Adhering to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications.

Your background

• Bachelors degree in B.E / Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Must have 2 -6 years of experience.
• Excellent knowledge of CAD tools (Good experience in e3, not mandatory)
• Very Good knowledge of Protection Control Systems for T D / Gen.
• Familiarity with codes and applicable standards like IEC, IEEE, ANSI, etc...
• Basic knowledge of GIS Ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
• Ability to work in a team and maintain professionalism.
• Proficiency in both spoken written English language is required
