Job summary

Suzuki R&D Center India Pvt. Ltd. in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer for Biogas and process support. You will lead mechanical commissioning, validate piping diagrams, and coordinate with third parties to ensure compliance and performance.

The role requires 2–4 years of relevant plant experience, strong analytical skills, and a willingness to travel for site assessments and commissioning.

Qualifications

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 2 years’ of work experience at any processing / manufacturing plant; Mandatory experience in Biogas / Effluent Treatment / Waste Management
• Hands-on experience with 3rd party EPC contractors, Project Management, Mechanical commissioning
• In-depth knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and rotating equipment design; Proficiency with mechanical simulation tools
• Familiarity with relevant mechanical safety standards
• Excellent communication skills for technical reporting, cross-team coordination and vendor negotiation – vendor management
• Willingness to travel regularly for site assessments & commissioning support
• Strong problem-solving aptitude, Conceptual Thinking, Analytical Ability, Creativity, Learnability

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical commissioning activities, and coordinate corrective actions with the third parties
• Validate mechanical designs, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment datasheets against project specifications
• Conduct site inspections of digesters, mixers, pumps, heat exchangers, compressors, and associated piping for compliance and workmanship
• Diagnose equipment failures or performance shortfalls; recommend technical solutions and oversee implementation
• Implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies; optimize lubrication, alignment, and vibration monitoring programs
• Analyse operational data to identify mechanical bottlenecks, energy losses, and throughput limitations
• Collaborate with teams to enforce mechanical safety standards, lockout-tagout procedures, and incident root-cause investigations
• Prepare detailed mechanical performance reports and present findings to senior management
