CGIAR's CIP South Asia Regional Center (CSARC) in Agra seeks a Project Engineer to lead the on-site design, construction and maintenance oversight for the CSARC campus.
You will work with CIP staff, NHB, contractors and architects to ensure safety, quality, and sustainability while coordinating multi-stakeholder activities.
Advanced degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience; willingness to be based in Agra; familiarity with Indian codes and construction QC is essential.
About CSARC: The CIP, SouthAsia Regional Center (CSARC), Agra, serves as a key hub for agriculturalresearch and development focused on potato and sweetpotato systems in SouthAsia. The center supports research initiatives aimed at improving cropproductivity, climate resilience, and sustainable farming practices. Itcollaborates with national research institutions, government agencies, privateplayers and development partners to promote innovative agricultural solutions.
About the position: The Project Engineerwill be part of the Operations team and will work closely with CIP projectstaff, contractors, and the National Horticulture Board (NHB) during theconstruction phase and later will be responsible for all day to day maintenancerelated job at the centres. The Engineer willprovide dedicated, hands-on engineering oversight of the design, construction andmaintenance of the CSARC campus, acting as a technical extension of the CIPteam on site. The Project Engineerserves as CIP's technical representative throughout the planning, design,construction, commissioning, handover, and operational phases of the CSARCcampus, providing independent technical oversight to ensure quality,accountability, and compliance. The role will lead and support the planning,development, operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of CSARC'sphysical infrastructure, facilities, utilities, and engineering systems toensure the Centre remains safe, functional, sustainable, and fit for purpose.
