Job summary

ICRISAT seeks applications from dynamic and motivated Indian nationals for the position of Executive-Ground Data Collection in the Digital Agriculture cluster under the Global Research Program. This contractual role at ICRISAT Headquarters in Patancheru, Hyderabad, Telangana, India involves carrying out field surveys, data collection, and field validation for remote sensing projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in agricultural field surveys and data collection activities.
• Familiarity with GPS devices, mobile survey applications, and geotagging tools.
• Basic understanding of remote sensing and GIS applications in agriculture.
• Ability to travel extensively for field data collection.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Office and basic data handling.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field surveys for collection of crops, soil, management, and geospatial information.
• Support ground truth data collection for crop type mapping, acreage estimation, and crop condition monitoring.
• Record field observations using GPS-enabled mobile applications and digital survey tools.
• Coordinate with farmers, local institutions, and project teams during field campaigns.
• Assist in crop cutting experiments, biomass sampling, and field measurements for yield estimation.
• Ensure proper documentation, organization, and quality checking of collected field datasets.
• Support field validation activities related to remote sensing and crop modelling projects.
• Maintain field equipment, GPS devices, and survey instruments.
• Assist in preparation of field survey reports and technical summaries.

ICRISAT seeks applications from dynamic and motivated Indian nationals for the position of Executive-Ground Data Collection Geospatial Sciences to support the Digital Agriculture cluster under the Global Research Program - Resilient Farming Systems. This role is critical to advancing the organisation's mission of improving agricultural productivity and sustainability in semi-arid regions across Asia and sub-Saharan Africa through advanced remote sensing applications in agriculture. This position will be based at ICRISAT's Headquarters in Patancheru, Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
