Job summary

ICRISAT seeks applications for a Research Technician - Regenerative Landscape. The role supports field implementation of benchmark and living landscape initiatives to boost productivity, manage resources and improve rural livelihoods.

Field surveys, baseline assessments, demonstrations, and data collection are key activities. Selected candidates will be stationed at assigned project clusters across India and may travel extensively to interact with farmers and local partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Agriculture or related fields.
• 0-5 years' experience in agricultural extension and field implementation.
• Experience in field surveys, data collection, farmer trainings, and demonstrations desirable.
• Willingness to travel and work with farming communities across project sites.

Responsibilities

• Support regenerative agriculture field activities, crop demonstrations, agroforestry, fodder development, and watershed interventions.
• Maintain field records, support trainings, document success stories, and assist in monitoring.
• Stationed at clusters in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, or Karnataka; travel to project sites and work with communities.

Job Summary

ICRISAT seeks applications from dynamic Indian nationals for the position of Research Technician - Regenerative Landscape. The Research Technician will support field implementation of benchmark and living landscape initiatives aimed at improving agricultural productivity, natural resource management, climate resilience, and rural livelihoods. The candidate will assist in conducting household surveys, baseline assessments, field demonstrations, crop and fodder monitoring, community mobilization, training programs, and collection of biophysical and socio-economic data. There are 9 vacancies that will be based across India. position requires close interaction with farmers and local institutions to facilitate implementation of project interventions and ensure timely monitoring and reporting.

Responsibilities

The candidate will support field activities related to regenerative agriculture, crop demonstrations, agroforestry plantations, fodder development, nursery establishment, soil and water conservation measures, watershed interventions, and operation of field monitoring activities. Responsibilities also include maintaining field records, supporting training and awareness programs, documenting success stories, and assisting scientific staff in implementation and monitoring of project activities. The candidate will be stationed at assigned project clusters in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, or Karnataka and will work closely with local communities and project partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree (B.Sc.) in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Agroforestry, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Rural Development, Soil Science, or related disciplines.
• 0-5 years of experience in agricultural extension, field implementation, community mobilization, watershed development, agroforestry, fodder systems, regenerative agriculture, or related areas.
• Experience in conducting field surveys, data collection, farmer trainings, demonstration management, and community engagement will be desirable.
• Good communication, interpersonal, documentation, and reporting skills, with the ability to work effectively with farming communities and local institutions.
• Willingness to be stationed at designated project sites and undertake extensive field travel within project areas.

General

This is a contractual role for a period of 24 months (02 years), renewable based on the performance of the incumbent and the institute s continuing need for the position.
