Job summary

M5 Mahendra Group, Bengaluru-based leader in infrastructure and real estate, invites a Project Engineer – Civil (External Development) to plan, execute, and monitor external development works such as roads, drainage, utilities, and landscaping interfaces.

You will ensure timely completion, quality compliance, and seamless coordination with the Project Manager, construction teams, surveyors, and MEP specialists, supporting high-rise and township projects.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in external development / infrastructure works.
• Experience in roads, drainage, utilities, and site development for residential / township / high-rise projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and monitor external development works (roads, drainage, utilities, landscaping interfaces).
• Coordinate with Project Manager/Construction Manager and survey team for alignment and levels.
• Ensure timely completion, quality compliance, and proper contractor supervision.
• Coordinate with MEP teams for service integration and utility networks.
• Maintain progress reports, inspections, and documentation; highlight risks and delays.
• Ensure site readiness, handover readiness, and safe execution of works.

Position:Project Engineer – Civil (External Development)

RoleSummary

The Project Engineer – Civil (ExternalDevelopment) is responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring allexternal development works including roads, drainage, utilities, andlandscaping interfaces. The role ensures timely completion, quality compliance,and proper coordination of all infrastructure works supporting high-risedevelopments.

This role is critical for ensuring sitereadiness, connectivity, and functional infrastructure delivery.

KeyResponsibilities

1. ExternalDevelopment Execution

• Execute and supervise all external works including internalroads, pathways, storm water drains, sewer lines, water supply networks,and utility corridors.
  
• Ensure proper sequencing and integration of external works withbuilding construction progress.
  
• Monitor earthwork, subgrade preparation, compaction, and road works(GSB, WMM, asphalt / concrete).
  

2.Infrastructure & Utilities Coordination

• Coordinate installation of underground utilities such assewer, water supply, electrical ducts, STP lines, and rainwater drainagesystems.
  
• Ensure proper slopes, gradients, invert levels, and connectivity ofall utility networks.
  
• Coordinate with MEP teams and consultants for service integration.
  
• Work closely with survey team to ensure correct levels,alignment, and layout of roads, drains, and services.
  
• Verify benchmarks, slopes, and finished levels (FFL) for externalworks.
  
• Supervise contractors and subcontractors for quality, productivity,and adherence to specifications.
  
• Monitor manpower, machinery, and material utilization.
  
• Ensure timely execution as per defined milestones.
  

5. QualityControl & Compliance

• Ensure execution as per approved drawings, specifications, andquality standards.
  
• Conduct inspections for road layers, drainage lines, manholes, andutility works.
  
• Coordinate testing (compaction tests, concrete tests, materialapprovals).
  

6. Safety(HSE) Compliance

• Ensure safe execution of excavation, trenching, and road works.
  
• Enforce safety practices for underground utilities and heavyequipment operations.
  

7. Planning& Progress Monitoring (Coordination Only)

• Coordinate with Planning team to align external works with projecttimelines.
  
• Track progress and highlight delays impacting project handover oraccess.
  

8.Finishing & Handover Readiness

• Ensure completion of kerbs, footpaths, paving, landscapinginterfaces, and site grading.
  
• Support final inspection, snag closure, and handover of externalinfrastructure.
  

9.Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain daily progress reports, inspection records, andchecklists.
  
• Track quantities executed and coordinate with QS for measurementsand billing.
  
• Highlight risks, delays, and execution challenges to management.
  

Qualifications& Experience

• B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering
  
• 5–10 years of experience in external development / infrastructureworks
  
• Experience in roads, drainage, utilities, and site developmentfor residential / township / high-rise projects
  
• Basic ERP and Excel proficiency
