Job summary

JiBe PMS in Pune is seeking a Project Engineer to support data-building efforts for vessel PMS structures. The role involves screening manuals, extracting jobs and descriptions, and mapping them to the JiBe blueprint.

The candidate will draft precise job descriptions, identify required attachments, and prepare equipment hierarchies. Prior PMS/ERP exposure and strong attention to detail are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level engineering degree in marine or mechanical disciplines.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Experience with extracting and structuring data from manuals or similar sources.
• Knowledge of PMS or ERP systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Screen and extract job, descriptions and relevant details from manuals, ISM/SMS/CMS yard manuals or client sources.
• Map extracted job titles to JiBe Jobs Blueprint.
• Draft structured and technically accurate job descriptions.
• Identify attachments to be extracted for job procedures.
• Prepare equipment structures and machinery locations from manuals or vessel plans.
• Merge diverse data sources into a coherent PMS file and guide teammates to meet deadlines.

Project Engineer

Job Objective

The Project Engineer will be working as part of the JiBe PMS data building team responsible to screen the PMS data, extract the relevant jobs and job details in order prepare the equipment and PMS job structure for the vessels being built by the team.

Job Responsibilities

The Project Engineer shall be required to perform below jobs

• Screen and extract job, job descriptions and the relevant job details from maker manuals, ISM, SMS, CMS yard supplied manuals, or any other source provided by the client
• Map the extracted job titles to the JiBe Jobs Blueprint
• Draft the job descriptions in a clear, structured and technically accurate manner
• Identify and record the job attachments required to be extracted from the provided manuals in order to be attached as part of the job procedures
• Extract machinery particulars out of the maker/ yard manuals
• Prepare the Equipment Structure/hierarchy
• Prepare Machinery-locations/Components-sets installed as provided in makers manuals or vessel plans
• Merging and processing the various data sources into one coherent PMS file. Data sources can include Class instructions, Manuals and various procedures agreed with Client (SMS jobs, Alarm jobs)
• Monitor and guide teammates to achieve their target on time and data with high accuracy and quality
• Planning, assigning and reporting all tasks on the task management system
• Ensure tasks and projects are completed as per the required schedule
• Machine Learning and AI data building experience

Qualifications and Skill

• Background in Marine engineering/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree
• Sailing background as (TME, 4th Engineer) is preferred
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Excellent typing skills
• Self-motivated, independent and meticulous with an eye for detail
• Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
• PMS knowledge or relevant experience will be considered as an advantage
• ERP / PMS software experience will be considered as an advantage
• Marine industry data building experience will be considered as an advantage
• Experience in supply chain management related to the shipping industry will be considered as an advantage.
