Job summary

Magnakraft Automation Systems in Pune (Shivane) is seeking a Project Engineer to drive automation projects from order receipt to successful handover. You will coordinate with Design, Controls, Assembly, Purchase, Quality, Vendors and Customers to ensure delivery within scope, schedule, budget and quality standards.

The role acts as the central technical coordinator for day-to-day execution, handling project planning, design coordination, procurement, manufacturing, electrical & controls,

Qualifications

  • BE/B Tech Mechanical/Mechatronics/Production/Electrical/Automation.
  • Diploma candidates with relevant experience considered.

Responsibilities

  • Project planning and milestones definition.
  • Coordinate with design, controls, assembly and purchasing teams.
  • Monitor schedules, risks and budgets.
  • Lead electrical & controls coordination, PLC/SCADA integration and FAT planning.
  • Site installation coordination and commissioning support.
  • Maintain project documentation and customer communications.

  • B.E./B.Tech. Mechanical / Mechatronics / Production / Electrical / Automation
  • Diploma candidates with relevant experience may also be considered.

Job Summary

The Project Engineer is responsible for execution of assigned automation projects from the receipt of order until successful customer handover. The role involves coordination among Design, Controls, Assembly, Purchase, Quality, Vendors and Customers to ensure projects are delivered within scope, schedule, quality and budget.

The Project Engineer acts as the central technical coordinator for day-to-day project execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning

  • Study customer PO, specifications and technical requirements.
  • Prepare detailed project execution plan.
  • Define project milestones and timelines.
  • Coordinate internal kick-off meetings.
  • Monitor project schedule.

2. Design Coordination

Coordinate with Mechanical Design Team regarding

  • Design approvals
  • Design release
  • Drawing revisions
  • BOM release
  • Manufacturing support

Ensure no delay due to engineering activities.

3. Purchase Coordination

Coordinate with Purchase department for

  • Bought-out items
  • Vendor follow-up
  • Delivery schedules
  • Critical material availability

Identify procurement risks early.

4. Manufacturing Coordination

Coordinate with

  • Tool Room
  • Fabrication
  • Machining
  • Assembly

Ensure:

  • Manufacturing follows schedule
  • Drawings are latest revision
  • Material availability
  • Daily production progress

5. Electrical & Controls Coordination

Coordinate with PLC team for

  • Panel readiness
  • Software development
  • I/O verification
  • HMI development
  • Robot programming
  • Vision system integration

Ensure electrical readiness before machine trials.

6. Machine Assembly & Trials

Monitor

  • Mechanical assembly
  • Pneumatic commissioning
  • Servo tuning
  • PLC testing
  • Dry run
  • Cycle time achievement
  • FAT readiness

Prepare internal punch lists.

7. Customer Communication

Act as primary technical contact for assigned projects.

Responsibilities include

  • Weekly progress updates
  • Technical clarifications
  • Change management
  • Schedule discussions
  • FAT planning
  • SAT planning

8. Site Installation

Coordinate installation activities

  • Machine dispatch
  • Installation schedule
  • Utilities verification
  • Customer coordination
  • Site issue resolution

Support commissioning engineers whenever required.

9. Documentation

Prepare and maintain

  • Project schedules
  • Progress reports
  • MOMs
  • FAT reports
  • SAT reports
  • Installation reports
  • Customer approvals
  • Project closure documents

10. Project Monitoring

Track

  • Project progress
  • Delays
  • Risks
  • Resource utilization
  • Budget deviations
  • Customer changes
