Job summary

Johnson Controls in Mumbai is seeking an experienced Project Engineer – Chillers to lead end-to-end chiller projects, including installation, testing, commissioning, and coordination with clients and stakeholders.

The role focuses on delivering quality results on time while maintaining safety standards and compliance across project sites in India. Contractual (1 year) engagement with travel to project sites as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
• 3–10 years in HVAC or chiller project execution.
• Hands-on installation, testing, commissioning of chillers.
• Experience in commercial, industrial, healthcare, data center projects.
• Knowledge of HVAC, chilled water systems, pumps, piping, and controls.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Execute chiller installation projects from handover to final commissioning.
• Manage project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and site execution.
• Coordinate with customers, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Supervise installation of chillers, pumps, piping, controls, and related HVAC equipment.
• Conduct testing and commissioning of water-cooled and air-cooled chillers.
• Monitor progress and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation and handover records.
• Ensure safety, quality, and company standards at sites.
• Troubleshoot technical issues during installation and commissioning.
• Participate in customer meetings and provide status updates.
• Coordinate with service and operations for smooth project closure.

Role - Project Engineer - Chillers (Contractual)

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 3 to 10 years of experience in HVAC or chiller project execution.
• Hands-on experience in installation, testing, and commissioning of chillers.
• Experience handling commercial, industrial, healthcare, data center, or infrastructure projects.
• Good understanding of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, pumps, piping, and controls.
• Knowledge of project management practices and site coordination.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Water-Cooled Chillers and Air-Cooled Chillers.
• Knowledge of BMS integration and HVAC controls.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and project specifications.
• Proficiency in MS Office and project reporting tools.
• Willingness to travel extensively to project sites as required.
