Job summary

Atlas Copco (India) Private Ltd. seeks a Project Engineer specializing in CNG equipment order execution within the Compressor Technique unit.

You will coordinate sales, technical, and project teams to move projects from quotation to order fulfillment while maintaining accurate data and clear customer communication. Ideal candidates have 2–3 years in project engineering, a mechanical or electrical background, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of relevant experience in project engineering or a similar mechanical/electrical role, ideally with CNG compressor technologies.
• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Solid foundational knowledge of CNG compressor systems with keen attention to detail and quality.
• Strong English communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel to diverse project sites and customer locations.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed quotations by analyzing client requirements with sales and technical teams.
• Maintain and update customer and project data in the C4C system for accurate milestone tracking.
• Oversee tender management including pre-bid preparations and clarifications.
• Coordinate order execution steps with production control and project managers.
• Schedule inspections, review test certificates and documentation prior to dispatch.
• Act as central customer liaison post-order, ensuring timely responses and cross-team coordination.
• Ensure compliance with Atlas Copco policies and SHE guidelines.

Your role

As a Project Engineer specializing in CNG equipment order execution within the Compressor Technique business area at Atlas Copco (India) Private Ltd., you will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless coordination between sales, technical, and project teams to deliver exceptional products and services. Your focus will be on managing and executing projects from the quotation phase through order fulfillment, while maintaining accuracy in data management and customer communication.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop detailed and competitive quotations by thoroughly analyzing client requirements and collaborating closely with sales and technical teams to align solutions with customer needs and internal standards.
• Maintain and update customer and project data within the C4C (Cloud for Customer) system ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information, facilitating transparent monitoring of project milestones and customer interactions.
• Oversee tender management activities including pre-bid preparations, query formulation for technical and commercial clarifications, and representation during pre-bid meetings to secure optimum project win rates.
• Coordinate order execution steps ensuring timely drawing approvals, manufacturing clearances, and delivery schedules by liaising with production control and project managers.
• Manage inspection processes by scheduling calls with customers, reviewing test certificates and documentation, and ensuring compliance prior to dispatch.
• Serve as the central contact point for customer relations post-order, fostering strong, positive relationships through regular visits, timely responses to queries, and coordination across service and sales teams.
• Ensure compliance with Atlas Copco's corporate vision, values, and policies including SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) guidelines and the Business Code of Conduct.

This role demands a dynamic individual with excellent organizational skills, technical acumen related to CNG compressors, and the ability to proactively manage multiple priorities while fostering collaboration across departments. To Thrive In This Role, You Should Possess

• 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in project engineering or a similar role within mechanical or electrical engineering fields, ideally involving CNG compressor technologies.
• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Solid foundational knowledge of CNG compressor systems with keen attention to detail and quality.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including effective English language proficiency and confident presentation abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively within diverse teams and demonstrate leadership potential.
• Willingness and flexibility to travel as required to diverse project sites and customer locations.
