Job summary

ABB India in Faridabad is seeking a BE/BTech Mechanical Engineer for a role focused on mechanical design for LV motors and generators, applying IS/IEC standards to meet objectives. You will use 3D modeling (NX/SolidWorks), prepare BOM in SAP, run tolerance and stress analyses, and ensure designs satisfy customer specs while collaborating with project managers.

This position reports to an R&D Principal Engineer and contributes to continuous improvement and product introductions within the Motion

Qualifications

• BE/BTECH Mechanical Engineering with 4–6 years of LV Motors experience.
• Experience with 3D design tools NX/SolidWorks or equivalent.
• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint and SAP.

Responsibilities

• Create mechanical designs complying with IS/IEC standards for motors & generators.
• Use 3D modeling and detailing; prepare SAP BOM for standard and non-standard motors.
• Perform tolerance and mechanical stress analyses and support NPI.
• Address manufacturing queries related to designs and BOMs.
• Provide feedback to project managers to meet customer needs.
• Ensure designs meet company, industry and customer specs using IS/IEC standards.

This Position reports to:

R&D Principal Engineer

Your Role And Responsibilities (Mandatory)

In this role, you are responsible creating mechanical designs that require knowledge of IS/IEC standards applicable for motors & generators to effectively achieve objectives. Assignments typically require the use of advanced and innovative techniques. Also, will proactively seek and implement initiatives to improve operations and increase customer satisfaction.

This role is contributing to the Motion business for IEC LV Motors division based in Faridabad, India:

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Utilize 3D modeling and detailing to create special mechanical designs incorporating GD&T and drawing codes and Practices. Prepare BOM in SAP for standard and non-standard motors.
• Ensure all designs work to meet company, industry and customer’s technical standards/requirements (i.e. IS, IEC, NEMA, ANSI, IEEE, customer project specifications, etc.).
• Perform tolerance and mechanical stress analysis as necessary also support mechanical designs for New Product Introductions.
• Address manufacturing concerns or questions related to mechanical designs and/or bill of materials.
• Provide feedback and solutions to project managers and project engineers to meet customer needs.
• You are responsible creating mechanical designs that require knowledge of IS/IEC standards applicable for motors & generators to effectively achieve objectives. Assignments typically require the use of advanced and innovative techniques. Also, will proactively seek and implement initiatives to improve operations and increase customer satisfaction.

Qualifications For The Role (Mandatory)

• BE/BTECH Mechanical Engineering only with 4 to 6 years of experience preferably in LV Motors, Induction Motors Design.
• Experience with PLM software - Teamcenter Experience with 3D design including use of NX, Solid works, or equivalent design platforms.
• Familiar and have practical experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, SAP, and other applicable software.
• Strong interpersonal skills. Must be self-motivated with a high level of creativity.
