Project Director - Asia (Major Construction Projects)

We are partnering with a leading international Tier 1 main contractor with an outstanding reputation for delivering some of Asia's most complex and prestigious construction projects. With a strong pipeline of work across the region and a recently secured landmark project in India, our client is looking to appoint an experienced Project Director to lead the successful delivery of major high-value build projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven construction leader who has successfully delivered large-scale developments from inception through to completion. Projects will include high-rise commercial developments, mixed-use schemes, premium office buildings and hyperscale data centres, with project values ranging into the hundreds of millions of dollars. As Project Director, you will take full responsibility for the overall performance of the project, providing strategic leadership across all construction, commercial and operational functions. You will be the primary point of contact for the client, consultants and key stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of major construction projects from pre-construction through to handover
• Develop and implement project strategies to achieve programme, commercial and operational objectives
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and key stakeholders
• Provide leadership, direction and mentorship to multidisciplinary project teams
• Ensure the highest standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance are maintained throughout the project lifecycle
• Manage project budgets, cost control, forecasting and risk mitigation
• Drive programme performance and proactively resolve technical and operational challenges
• Work closely with senior leadership to ensure successful project execution and client satisfaction
• Identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency and continuous improvement across project delivery.

Candidate Requirements

• Extensive experience working for a recognised Tier 1 or leading main contractor
• Proven track record delivering high-value building projects, ideally exceeding US$200 million in value
• Experience leading large-scale commercial, high-rise, mixed-use or data centre developments
• Strong client-facing skills with the ability to build long-term relationships and manage senior stakeholders
• Excellent leadership and people management experience across large project teams
• Commercially astute with a strong understanding of project controls, contracts and risk management
• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
• Stable career history demonstrating progression through increasingly senior project leadership roles
• Previous experience working within Asia or on international construction projects would be highly advantageous.
