Job summary

HelpAge India is seeking a Project Coordinator to lead the Digital & Financial Empowerment Programme for senior citizens in Karnataka. You will engage with Senior Citizen Associations, RWAs, banks, and community partners to deliver targeted outcomes and timely reporting.

You will organize literacy workshops, monitor progress against monthly targets, and build networks for sustainable impact across districts and urban areas. Strong coordination and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Sociology, Development Studies, Education, Management or related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in programme coordination, community development or outreach.
  • Experience with senior citizens, digital literacy, financial inclusion or community programmes preferred.
  • Strong planning, project management and reporting abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee programme implementation across designated districts and urban locations.
  • Develop and maintain a database of SCAs, RWAs, clubs, elder groups and urban communities.
  • Ensure adherence to timelines, guidelines and quality standards.
  • Monitor activities and provide updates to State Program Manager and Programme Lead.
  • Organize and facilitate monthly digital, financial and legal literacy workshops.
  • Conduct awareness sessions on digital safety, cyber fraud prevention, and financial inclusion.
  • Train and mentor youth volunteers for implementation.
  • Build local resource networks to strengthen outreach.

Role Overview

TheProject Coordinator will be responsible for planning, coordinating, andimplementing the Digital & Financial Empowerment Programme for seniorcitizens across the state. The position requires close engagement with seniorcitizen associations, community volunteers, community stakeholders, and projectteams to ensure effective program delivery, achievement of targets, and timelyreporting.

  • Coordinate and oversee programmeimplementation across designated districts and urban locations.
  • Develop and maintain a database of SeniorCitizen Associations (SCAs), Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), clubs,elder groups, and urban slum communities.
  • Ensure adherence to project timelines,guidelines, and quality standards.
  • Monitor programme activities and provideregular updates to the State Program Manager, State Head, and ProgrammeLead.
Training & Capacity Building
  • Organize and facilitate monthly digital,financial, and legal literacy workshops for senior citizens.
  • Conduct awareness sessions on digitalsafety, cyber fraud prevention, online services, financial inclusion, andlegal rights.
  • Train and mentor youth volunteers tosupport programme implementation.
  • Build local resource networks tostrengthen outreach and programme impact.
Monitoring, Reporting &Documentation
  • Ensure achievement of monthly andquarterly programme targets.
  • Collect, verify, and maintain programmedata for monitoring and evaluation.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports, MISreports, success stories, photographs, videos, and case studies.
  • Track participant feedback and recommendimprovements to enhance programme effectiveness.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build and maintain strong relationshipswith SCAs, RWAs, elder groups, banks, financial institutions, legalauthorities, and community stakeholders.
  • Support stakeholder consultations,programme reviews, and planning meetings.
  • Represent the programme at local events,networking forums, and observances such as World Elder Abuse Awareness Day(WEAAD) and International Day of Older Persons (IDOP).
Administrative Support
  • Coordinate logistics for workshops,training programmes, and outreach activities.
  • Maintain records of programme activities,attendance, and volunteer engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with organizationalpolicies and project requirements.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work,Sociology, Development Studies, Education, Management, or a related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in programmecoordination, community development, outreach, training, or related socialsector projects.
  • Experience working with senior citizens,digital literacy, financial inclusion, or community-based programmes willbe preferred.
