Job summary

LyondellBasell in Mumbai seeks a Lead Project Controls Engineer to provide Project Controls Services for Major GP Projects. You will generate and analyze project data, develop schedules, manage change and ensure discipline in reporting formats for capital projects.

Responsibilities include cost and schedule reporting, budgeting, and coordination with engineering, procurement and construction teams to control scope and schedule. English proficiency and strong MS Office skills are required.

Qualifications

• Understanding of project control systems and reports.
• Basic cost controls terminology knowledge (Actual cost, Commitment, WBS/CBS, EVM).
• Software knowledge in SAP PS Module and Primavera P6.
• Familiarity with planning during EPC phases is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze project data and present to PM/PCM for review.
• Lead scheduling activities using Primavera P6.
• Plan activities during Engineering, Procurement and Construction phases and coordinate with functions.
• Critically review Contractor schedules and support Project Management.
• Prepare project cost and schedule progress reports.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts using WBS, EVM and contingency allocation.
• Collaborate with contractors to gather data for review.
• Issue purchase requisitions and track vendor invoicing and payments.
• Generate alerts for cost overruns or schedule slippages.

Position Summary

The person would be involved in providing Project Controls Services from Mumbai office to NA/EAI Sites. This includes the generation and analysis of Project Data for presentation to Project team, development of project control plans, schedules, application of change management system to ensure capital discipline and ensuring use of common methods and standard reporting formats.

Responsibilities And Accountabilities

General

Individual would be working as a Lead Project Controls Engineer for Major GP Projects i.e TIC > $50MM & Individual would require to support the bunch of Site capital project

• Collect and Analyze project data and present to PM/PCM for review


• Individual would be responsible for project planning, scheduling activities using Primavera P6 software.


• Plan activities during Engineering, Procurement and Construction phases & co-ordinate with respective function to gather information, develop schedule and align with project team.


• Critically examine schedules from Contractors and provide support to Project Management team.


• Individual would be responsible to Prepare Project cost and schedule progress reports


• Individual Prepare budgets, forecasting using cost engineering principles such as work breakdown structure, earned value, contingency allocation including Cost Controls


• Collaborate with various contractor to collect and Analyse project data and present to project Manager for review


• Prepare Project cost and schedule progress reports. In-depth expertise in software like SAP PS Module, Primavera p6 etc.


• Issue timely purchase requisition, follow-up with vendor for invoicing, clear the service entry & ensure timely payment to the vendor/contractor


• Generate alerts involving issues with cost overruns/ schedule slippages

Area Of Expertise, Requirements

• Understanding of Project control systems, Various reports.


• Entry level knowledge of Cost Controls terminology like Actual cost, Commitment, WBS/CBS, EVM, Contingency etc.


• Software knowledge in SAP PS Module, Primavera P6


• Familiarity with Planning of activities during Engineering, Procurement and Construction phases will be an added advantage


• Good written & Verbal Communication skills


• Expertise in MS office excel & Power BI

Education

• Engineering graduates

Work Experience

• 8 to 11 years post qualification functional experience as Project Controls Engineer in reputed Engineering Companies, in areas of cost control, scheduling, construction progress measurement.

Languages: English, additional language preferred (German/Italian/French)
