Job summary

CSIR-Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute (CSIR-CSMCRI), Bhavnagar, invites applications for Project Associate – I (PAT-I) under the CSIR-sponsored MMP project titled Region Specific Smart Agrotech (MMP025303). Three posts are available for individuals with M.Sc in Chemistry/Biotechnology/Agriculture/Botany or BE/B.Tech in relevant fields.

Monthly emoluments are ₹31,000 + HRA for NET/GATE/ICAR/ICMR or equivalent candidates; ₹25,000 + HRA for others.

Qualifications

• M.Sc in Chemistry/Biotechnology/Agriculture/Botany from a recognized university or B.E/B.Tech in Chemical Engineering/Biotechnology/Industrial Biotechnology from a recognized university.

Responsibilities

• Competency in Organic Synthesis, Soil sample analysis and data analysis would be preferred.
• Age limit is 35 years as on 20/10/2026; engagement is temporary for one year co-terminus with the project.

Job description

Applications are invited for Project Associate – I (PAT-I) to work in the CSIR-sponsored MMP project entitled "Region Specific Smart Agrotech (MMP025303)" funded by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, New Delhi.

Position: Project Associate – I (PAT-I) (3 Post)

Essential qualifications for Project Associate – I (PAT-I):

M.Sc. Degree in Chemistry/Biotechnology/Agriculture/Botany from recognized university.

OR

B.E or B.Tech in Chemical Engineering/Biotechnology/Industrial Biotechnology from a recognised University.

Monthly Emoluments:

Rs.31,000/- + HRA (as applicable) for those candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET incl. lectureship/assistant professorship OR GATE OR those who have qualified National level examinations conducted by Central Governments like DBT/DST or equivalent and/or their Agencies/Institutions

Rs.25,000/- + HRA (as applicable) for others who do not fall under (a) above.

Desirable:

Candidates having research experience in the area of organic synthesis or soil analysis and experience in the area of machine learning would be preferred. The selected candidate will have to work on the project entitled "Region Specific Smart Agrotech" for a period of one year.

Job Requirement:

Competency in Organic Synthesis, Soil sample analysis, and data analysis would be preferred.

Age:

(As on the last date of receipt of applications through e-mail, i.e. 20/10/2026), maximum 35 years for Project Associate -I. Age relaxation is applicable as per CSIR rules.

Duration:

This position are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR - Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute, Bhavnagar or different Lab./Instt. of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 06 years in any case. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar.

• The decision of Director, CSIR-CSMCRI in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications, mode of selection, conduct of interview, cancellation of advertisement etc. will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained in this connection from any individual or person or agency.
