Job summary

CSIR - Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute, Bhavnagar, invites applications for Senior Project Associate (Senior PAT) to work on the seaweed bioprospecting project. The appointment is temporary and co-terminus with the project.

The candidate should have a Master’s degree in Natural/Pharmaceutical Sciences or a Doctoral degree in Science/Pharma with relevant specializations, with preference for experience in extraction and chromatographic methods.

Qualifications

• Masters in Natural/Pharmaceutical Sciences with specialization in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Phytochemistry, Organic Chemistry or Natural Products.
• 3 years of R&D experience in industrial/academic science institutions or STOs.
• Doctoral degree in Science/Pharma with specializations in Phytochemistry, Natural Products, Pharmacognosy, Organic or Medicinal Chemistry.

Responsibilities

• Work on the project Bioprospecting of Seaweeds and forward genetic approaches to identify bio-actives.
• Experience with extraction, chromatographic separation, dereplication and structure elucidation using UV, IR, NMR, MS preferred.

Monthly Emoluments:

Rs 42000 + HRA as admissible

Age:

The upper age limit for Senior Project Associate (Senior PAT) is 40 years as on the last date of receipt of applications. Age relaxation as per rules.

Job requirements:

The selected candidate will work on the project entitled "Bioprospecting of Seaweeds and Employing Forward Genetic Approaches to Target Identification of Bio-actives Derived from Seaweeds". Candidates having experience with extraction, chromatographic separation, dereplication, and structure elucidation of small molecules from natural sources using UV, IR, NMR, MS techniques will be preferred.

This post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR - Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute, Bhavnagar or different Lab./Instt. of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 06 years in any case. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar.No TA/DA is admissible for attending the interview.

Terms and conditions

1. The decision of Director, CSIR-CSMCRI in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications, mode of selection, conduct of interview, cancellation of advertisement etc. will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained in this connection from any individual or person or agency.

5. If it is found at any stage of the process or thereafter that the candidate does not fulfill the eligibility criteria their candidature shall be cancelled without assigning any reason whatsoever.

6. Experience certificates must clearly indicate the duration of experience, place of work, and position held. Contractual work experience will not be considered as part of experience.
