Walk‑in Interview

Eligible candidates are invited for the Walk‑In‑Interview on 24.07.2025 at 11:00 AM at ICAR‑Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture, Srinagar for the temporary position of Project Assistant purely on contractual basis. The contract will initially run up to March‑2026 or until sanction of the project and availability of funds, whichever is earlier, and may be extended further on the basis of satisfactory performance and fund availability from the funding agency.

The candidates who fulfill the requisite qualification should bring a brief bio‑data neatly typed, experience certificates, original and attested photocopies of qualification certificates, and passport‑size photographs for verification and submission.

Position Details

• Contractual Position: Project Assistant (No. of Post(s): 1)
• Project/Code/Source of Funding: Bioprospecting of Rhizo‑cum‑endospheric Macrobiota of Apple Rootstocks for management of soil borne diseases of temperate fruit crops (JKDST)
• Emoluments: Rs. 20,000.00 (Consolidated)

Qualifications

• Essential Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Science – Life Science, Agriculture, or Horticulture
• Desirable: Expertise in isolation of fungi and bacteria, morpho‑molecular characterization of microorganisms, and proficiency in computer applications

Selection Process

• 60 marks for essential qualification
• 10 marks for Post Graduation
• 10 marks for experience (2 marks for each completed year)
• 20 marks for personal interview

Maximum age: 35 years (age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST, female candidates and 3 years for OBC)

Employment Terms

• The Project Assistant will be engaged on a full‑time contractual basis and must not take up any other assignment during the period of engagement.
• Contractual term may be discontinued at any time when need is not there.
• No regular appointment claim; the position is purely temporary.
• Full time work; casual leave (CL) and restricted holidays (RH) as per Gol/ICAR rules.
• No TA/DA for attending the Walk‑In‑Interview.
• The Director reserves the right to terminate services without prior notice; the decision is final and binding.
• Appointee must give a two‑month prior notice if intending to leave and submit a complete report to the Principal Investigator before resignation.
• Original qualification certificates must be presented at interview along with one full copy of mark sheets (self‑attested), publications, experience and other documents.
• No objection certificate required if already employed.
