Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Pune, India seeks a DC Projects business Commissioning Engineer to oversee enclosure packaging, manage assembly and testing per procedures, and coordinate manufacturing schedules with suppliers to meet delivery timelines.

You will conduct weekly reviews with packagers, ensure QA compliance, perform EOL inspections, generate test reports, and drive zero-defect manufacturing while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet customer expectations.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing and packaging processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee enclosure packaging activities to meet production schedule and quality standards.
• Manage enclosure assembly, integration, and testing per customer procedures.
• Prepare and coordinate manufacturing schedules with suppliers to meet delivery timelines.
• Conduct weekly review meetings with packagers to monitor material availability and progress.
• Coordinate with Quality Control to ensure material compliance with technical submittals.
• Perform End-of-Line inspections of enclosure packages prior to testing.
• Execute testing of enclosed generator packages and upload reports for customer review.
• Ensure proper packing with detailed packing slips and 100% scope compliance.
• Maintain in-process and final quality records.
• Drive zero-defect manufacturing by adhering to quality standards at supplier facilities.
• Verify packaging methods to prevent transit damage.

Key Responsibilities:

Serves as a support resource on projects and work assignments; developing basic knowledge of effective project management and general business understanding. Assists in identifying, tracking, and working with others to resolve project issues while developing skills to do this independently. Helps to monitor and communicate project status to project team while developing skills to do this independently. Assists with budget planning and tracking, research, and analytical support; provides administrative support for the design and development of project plans and timelines. POSITION: DC Projects business Commissioning Engineer

• Role responsibilities:Oversee enclosure packaging activities to ensure completion as per production schedule, quality standards, and performance requirements.
• Manage enclosure assembly, integration, and testing in accordance with customer-approved procedures and test scripts.
• Prepare and coordinate manufacturing schedules with suppliers for all open orders to meet committed delivery timelines.
• Conduct weekly review meetings with packagers to monitor material availability, production progress, and resolve any issues impacting delivery schedules.
• Coordinate with the Quality Control team to ensure all bought-out and manufactured materials comply with customer-approved technical submittals.
• Perform End-of-Line (EOL) inspections of enclosure packages prior to testing.
• Execute testing of enclosed generator packages as per approved test scripts, prepare test reports, close all observations, and upload reports to the customer portal for review and approval.
• Ensure proper packing of all loose materials with detailed packing slips, maintaining 100% compliance with project scope and customer requirements.
• Maintain in-process and final product quality records, including unit-wise documentation and repository management.
• Drive zero-defect manufacturing by ensuring adherence to quality standards at the supplier facility.
• Verify appropriate packaging methods to prevent transit damage during shipment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve manufacturing, quality, and performance objectives while meeting customer expectations.
