Position - Financial Accounting Lead

The client develops, deploys and manages Customer Communications Management (CCM) solutions for enterprises and print service providers worldwide. As a solutions-focused partner with deep expertise in CCM, enterprises turn to us to support complex CCM initiatives that range from smaller-scale document applications to full-scale omnichannel digital experiences
The role is designed with three simultaneous objectives:
- Capacity expansion: Share the operational finance load as India scales particularly in project accounting, HR financials, and budgeting management.
- Continuity & resilience: Build full backup capability across payroll, banking, and regulatory compliance domains eliminating single-point-of-failure risk in the finance function.
- Process maturity: Strengthen documentation, automate workflows in Excel, and improve reporting cadence across the finance function.
2. Reporting & Peer Structure
- Reports directly to Leadership same reporting line as the existing Finance Lead.
- Operates as a peer to the existing Finance Lead, not a subordinate. Both share accountability for India finance outcomes.
- Day-to-day coordination with the peer Finance Lead on workload allocation, close calendar, and cross-coverage planning.
- Functional collaboration with HR (payroll inputs, budgeting), Operations (project costs, vendor management), and Delivery (project accounting).
3.1 Project Accounting (25%)
- Maintain project-level financial records for CCM and other client engagements revenue, costs, margins, WIP.
- Coordinate monthly project accounting close with delivery leads — capture project hours, expenses, billable items.
- Prepare project P&L statements and variance analysis against budgets.
- Support invoicing accuracy by validating project data inputs before billing.
- Build and maintain Excel-based project accounting models with automated roll-ups.
3.2 HR Financials & Payroll (20%)
- Receive structured knowledge transfer on the full payroll cycle — inputs, processing, statutory deductions, payouts.
- Co-execute monthly payroll under peer review during transition; independent execution by Day 90.
- Manage payroll-related statutory compliance: TDS on salary, Provident Fund, ESI, Professional Tax, gratuity provisioning.
- Coordinate with HR on monthly headcount changes, increments, bonuses, full-and-final settlements.
- Maintain HR financial reports: cost-per-employee, function-wise manpower cost, attrition cost analysis.
- Reconcile payroll expense to GL and to bank disbursements monthly.
3.3 Budgeting & Financial Planning (20%)
- Lead annual budget preparation for India operations in partnership with department heads and the peer Finance Lead.
- Build and maintain departmental budget tracking dashboards in Excel.
- Conduct monthly budget vs. actual analysis; flag variances and drivers.
- Support quarterly forecast updates and reforecast cycles.
- Build scenario models for hiring plans, infrastructure investments, and growth scenarios.
- Partner with HR and Operations on workforce cost planning.
3.4 Banking & Treasury Operations (15%)
- Receive structured knowledge transfer on all India banking relationships, signatory protocols, and treasury operations.
- Manage bank reconciliations across all operating accounts.
- Execute vendor payments, employee reimbursements, and statutory remittances through banking portals.
- Monitor cash flow position and support working capital planning.
- Coordinate with banks on FX transactions, remittances from Inc., and operational queries.
- Maintain banking documentation and authorization matrices.
3.5 Regulatory & Statutory Compliance (15%)
- Receive structured knowledge transfer on all India statutory compliance currently centralized in the function.
- Co-prepare and file: GST returns, TDS returns, Income Tax filings, ROC filings, FEMA-related compliance.
- Coordinate with statutory auditors during annual audit; prepare audit schedules.
- Coordinate with tax consultants and chartered accountants for advisory matters.
- Maintain compliance calendar with due dates, filings, and renewals.

3.6 Cross-Coverage & Continuity (5%)
- Maintain comprehensive SOP documentation for all owned and shared processes.
- Ensure continuous bidirectional process knowledge sharing across the finance team — not one-way.
- Step in fully for the peer Finance Lead during planned absences (leave, travel) and unplanned exigencies.
- Maintain backup access to all critical systems, banking portals, and statutory portals.
