Title:Programme Manager: Performance and Organisational Health

Project, Process and ProductCareer Stream

The Programme Manager is accountable for the integrated planning, orchestration and delivery of the Performance and Organisational Health Programme across the Group.

Job Responsibilities

Structured Problem Solving, Prioritisation and Intervention Support

  • Drive rigorous problem solving on the programme’s most critical delivery challenges and provide hands‑on support to intervention teams.
  • Support Intervention Owners and Intervention Working Groups through the design, implementation and rollout of interventions, providing structured problem‑solving facilitation, delivery discipline and constructive challenge without owning intervention content or change approach.
  • Identify emerging issues that could materially affect programme outcomes; structure and lead cross-workstream problem‑solving efforts to resolution.
  • Help teams translate intervention objectives into actionable delivery plans with clear milestones, accountabilities and impact measures.
  • Develop fact‑based analyses and recommendations to support Programme Lead and sponsor decisions on priorities, trade‑offs and resource allocation.
  • Bring an enterprise‑wide perspective to programme choices, ensuring attention remains focused on the highest‑value issues and activities

Integrated Programme Planning and Delivery

  • Own the integrated programme plan and ensure disciplined delivery against agreed milestones and outcomes.
  • Translate programme priorities into an integrated delivery roadmap with clear outcomes, milestones, accountabilities and interdependencies.
  • Maintain an enterprise‑wide view across interventions and Programme support functions; manage the programme critical path.
  • Track delivery against milestones, identify slippage early and work with intervention owners on practical recovery plans.
  • Ensure programme activity remains focused on highest-priority outcomes and guard against proliferation of initiatives.

Cross-Workstream Integration and Dependency Management

  • Ensure programme elements operate as an integrated portfolio rather than standalone initiatives.
  • Identify and actively manage dependencies across Front Runner and Group-level interventions, change networks, and supporting business functions.
  • Surface duplication, overlap and synergy; coordinate sequencing to minimise conflicts and maximise collective impact.
  • Facilitate cross-workstream alignment and escalat
  • Partner with the Change Team to align delivery timelines with change, adoption and scaling activities

Programme Governance and Executive Decision Support

  • Prepare programme leadership and governance forums for effective, timely decision-making.
  • Synthesise complex programme information into clear insights, choices and recommendations for the Programme Lead, Programme Sponsor and ExCo.
  • Develop high-quality governance materials and proactively surface decisions required from senior leadership before they become delivery blockers.
  • Design and manage the programme governance cadence across PHPT, intervention owners and executive forums.
  • Maintain a record of key decisions and actions; ensure decisions translate rapidly into follow-through across programme teams

Programme Performance and Impact Tracking

  • Establish an integrated view of whether the programme is delivering intended performance and organisational health outcomes.
  • Consolidate delivery, adoption and impact data into a single programme performance view for leadership, moving reporting beyond activity tracking to tangible outcomes.
  • Track progress against programme ambitions and milestones; identify interventions not generating expected impact.
  • Facilitate corrective action discussions and support development of impact cases for priority interventions.
  • Use performance data to inform prioritisation and resource allocation recommendations to the Programme Lead.

Programme Operating Rhythm, Capability and Transition

  • Establish operating disciplines for effective programme execution and build sustainable internal capability.
  • Establish ways of working and a disciplined cadence for planning, progress reviews, problem solving and decision making across PHPT and intervention teams.
  • Clarify accountabilities across programme leadership, intervention owners and enabling teams; ensure commitments are followed through.
  • Capture and document programme management practices, governance mechanisms and tools to enable sustainable internal ownership.
  • Build internal capability and ensure programme management is embedded within Nedbank teams for the long term.
Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
  • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
Preferred Qualification

SMP or equivalent
PMP or Prince certification or equivalent PM framework

Preferred Certifications

PMP or Prince certification.
Programme Management certification (PGMP)

Minimum Experience Level

10 years experience working in a project environment of large project and or programmes of which 2-3 years management
