Job summary

Bhumi Fellowship seeks an energetic Programme Manager to oversee a cluster of fellows and their schools in Chennai and surrounding regions. You will coach fellows, design adult learning spaces, and drive outcomes across student achievement, teacher development, and school leadership.

The role involves building partnerships with government bodies and donors, plus contributing to recruitment and strategy. The ideal candidate has experience in managing people or projects, teaching or content

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of igrow journey with manager.
  • Experience of managing people / projects.
  • Teaching and/or content creation experience is desirable.
  • Any Graduate, post-graduate or fellowship.
  • Experience in managing/designing a fellowship would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Coach Fellows to achieve whole-school outcomes, such as student learning, teacher, and school leader development.
  • Empower Fellows by developing their skills and competencies through regular learning and development spaces.
  • Build partnerships with stakeholders including the school management, the government and donors to ensure the long term sustainability of our efforts.
  • Contribute to broader fellowship priorities such as fellow recruitment and selection, strategy, donor reporting and expansion.

About the Bhumi Fellowship

The Bhumi Fellowship aims to create young changemakersin education.

Integrating whole school transformation is at the heartof the Bhumi Fellowship. Fellows assist teachers, school officials, and parentsin supporting the holistic development of children.

In the next decade, we aimto impact the lives of one million children through the Bhumi Fellowship.

Role Overview

The person will beresponsible for a cluster of fellows and their schools.

Roles & Responsibilities of Programme Manager
  • Coach Fellows to achieve whole-school outcomes,such as student learning, teacher, and school leader development.
  • Empower Fellows by developing their skills andcompetencies through regular learning and development spaces.
  • Build partnerships with stakeholders includingthe school management, the government and donors to ensure the long termsustainability of our efforts.
  • Contribute to broader fellowship priorities suchas fellow recruitment and selection, strategy, donor reporting and expansion.
Preferred Education Qualification / Experience
  • Successful completion of igrow journey withmanager
  • Experience of managing people / projects
  • Teaching and/or content creation experience isdesirable
  • Any Graduate, post-graduate or fellowship
  • Experience in managing/designing a fellowshipwould be an advantage
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Prior experience teaching in a formal classroom& an ability to coach people to be exceptional teachers
  • Ability to design and drive outcome-orientedplans through the team’s collective effort
  • Ability to design and facilitate adult learningspaces
  • Ability to gather and analyse data to informdecisions
  • A good understanding of the education ecosystemincluding policies, curriculum frameworks and functioning of school systems.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills inEnglish (and Tamil would be an advantage)
  • Good computer knowledge and MS Office skills.
  • Emotional maturity to work with the perspectivesand needs of diverse team members
  • Highly resourceful team-player, who is alsoself-driven.
  • Forward looking thinker, who actively seeksopportunities and proposes solutions

  • Scope: Full time
  • Designation: Assistant Programme Manager to Programme Manager, based on the candidates profile
  • Reporting to: Senior Manager, Bhumi Fellowship
  • Remuneration: Rs.6-9 LPA, negotiable based on the candidate’s profile
  • Expected Joining Date: Immediate
  • Location: Chennai, Coimbatore, Trichy, Anaimalai
  • Minimum commitment: Three years
