Job summary

Catalysts for Social Action (CSA) invites applications for a Program Officer in Mumbai within the Operations department. The role focuses on program implementation management and ensures alignment with CSA’s mission to support CNCP children across CCIs in the region.

The position requires 2–3 years of social sector experience, a Master’s in Social Work, and fluency in English and Hindi, with strong digital skills and a valid two-wheeler and laptop. Location: Mumbai, India.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute location interventions based on CSA annual plan across programs.
• Conduct weekly field visits to allied CCIs and review, strategize, and solve program issues.
• Assist Trustees/In-charge staff to align with CSA objectives and ensure compliance per applicable acts.
• Provide regular program progress updates to the reporting Manager and Central Team.
• Record basic and key information of CCIs, resident children, and interventions.
• Update and analyze program data to support data-driven decisions.
• Maintain CSA program records at every CCI site.
• Prepare, manage, and review annual budgets for allocated CCIs and ensure timely expenditure.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders across locations and share best practices.
• Engage with local govt relations, CWC, DCPO, Police, lawyers, social workers, and NGOs.
• Organize capacity-building and sensitization trainings for trustees, staff, and govt officials.
• Prepare content for newsletters, website, and social media; contribute case studies and photos/videos.
• Assist in developing success stories and other supporting materials.
• Outline improvement plans and attend operation team trainings to build cross-learning.

Job Summary

Job Title: Program Officer

Reports to: Location In-charge

Responsible for: Program Implementation Management

Responsibilities

• Plan execute location interventions based on CSA annual plan around various programs
• Make weekly field visit to all allied CCIs in the region and review, strategize, and problem solve different program activities
• Help the institution's Trustees/In-charge staff to align with CSA's key objective work approach. Also, empower the management staff to maintain compliances as per JJ Act.
• Provide regular program progress updates to the reporting Manager and Central Team

Management of Quantitative Qualitative Data of all the programs

• Record basic and key information of CCIs, resident children, and various interventions
• Update and analyze various program data and facilitate data-based decision making
• Maintenance of CSA Program records in every CCI

Budget Management

• Prepare, manage review annual day to day budgets for the allocated CCIs
• Ensure budget utilization and its regular tracking
• Selection of local vendor with an economic solution for all allied CCIs. Also, ensure timely quotation submission and bill settlement

Internal External Stakeholders Management

• Co-ordination with internal stakeholders across all locations - any support, updates, best practice sharing
• Relationship Coordination with CCI trustees Staff, local govt. relations along with other stakeholders -CWC, DCPO, Police, Lawyers, Social workers and local NGOs etc
• Organizing different capacity building and sensitization training for CCI trustees, CCI staff, and respective govt. officials

Assisting in Knowledge development

• Prepare share content for organizations Newsletter, website and social media
• Provide case-study, write-ups supporting materials - photos/videos
• Assist in developing success stories

Achieving excellence in project management competencies

• Outline key improvement area development plan.
• Attend training workshop planned by operation team- excel and etc
• Develop cross learning opportunities

Personal Specifications

Qualifications: The profile needs a candidate to be self-motivated, empathetic, and passionate towards the cause since the role focuses on working with CNCP children and carries entire responsibility of all allied CCIs in a cluster. To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to satisfactorily deliver on each of the essentials listed above.
