Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Solely responsible for Unit / Department programs.
• Oversee Academic Plan, Sessional Planning, timetable management and examinations for the unit.
• Supervise lectures, practicals, tutorials and other sessions per workload.
• Ensure curriculum is delivered within required timelines.
• Drive academic improvement and create a better learning environment.
• Ensure fair examination processes and encourage use of university facilities.
• Organize training programs and promote research culture among students.
• Support admissions and counseling, and maintain communications with students, parents and student bodies.

2 .Key Accountability

Solely responsible for Unit / Department programs.

Responsible for Academic Plan, Sessional Planning, Time table management, and Examination pertaining to the respective Unit/department.

Shall be responsible for supervising the lectures, practicals, tutorials, and other sessions as per the assigned workload.

Supervise the quality, appropriateness, and relevance of academic offerings of the School including degrees, programs, specializations, and courses

Responsible for periodic reviews of all programs, degrees, courses, and specializations and their continuous improvements

Ensure that the curriculum is appropriately taught within the required timeframe

Work on overall academic improvement and enhance knowledge for a better learning environment for the students

Ensure the examination processes are conducted fairly and properly

Encourage students to utilize university facilities to upgrade their knowledge and enhance the learning

Organize various training programs for the students to develop their skill sets

Ensure participation of the unit in IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell) activities

Support in building the research capability and enabling a research culture among the students through real time projects and assignments.

Ensure that the students admitted to the program are industry-ready or pursue other useful career opportunities including Entrepreneurship.

Help in admissions and counseling students, manage communications with students, parents and mentor students & students’ association, bodies

Work towards a fast and fair resolution of all school-related problems, both routine and unique

3. Person Specification

Desired Qualification & Experience

Ph.D. from Top-50 Nationally ranked institutions (NIRF ranking) /top-ranked global institutions (QS ranking)

Minimum 10 years of teaching experience

Preferably of Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor cadre

Demonstrated academic and research reputation at a national level

Demonstrated experience in administrative capabilities

Leadership and Management

The ability to lead a Unit / Department / School, The person should have high EQ and negotiation skills. Should be able to work with people of diverse backgrounds and to work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, parents, and students. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and team-building skills are essential.
