Job summary

ABB in Nelamangala, Karnataka, India, is seeking a Production Planning professional to generate detailed production schedules from the production plan, optimize resource use, and monitor capacity and material availability to meet specifications and schedules.

You will release manufacturing work orders, manage BOMs in SAP/ERP, and prepare MIS/KPI reports while collaborating with multiple teams. This onsite role requires 2–5 years of related experience and travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Electronics & Communication (ECE), Mechanical, Instrumentation, or related engineering disciplines.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Production Planning, Scheduling, Manufacturing Operations, Inventory Management, or related functions within OEM and manufacturing environments.
  • Practical experience with SAP/ERP systems, BOM, production orders, and manufacturing execution processes to support operational efficiency.
  • Good knowledge of production planning, inventory control, shop floor operations, MRP, production scheduling, and capacity planning processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP and HLOOKUP, with the ability to prepare MIS reports, KPI dashboards, and production performance analytics.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality standards, Kaizen methodologies, and continuous improvement practices within a manufacturing environment.
  • Effective communication, stakeholder management, and vendor coordination skills, with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage production plans and schedules to meet customer delivery commitments and manufacturing targets.
  • Execute MRP activities to ensure material availability and uninterrupted production flow.
  • Define production routing, sequencing, and lead times in alignment with the master production plan.
  • Monitor production performance against plans, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency.
  • Manage production orders, inventory levels (RM, WIP, FG), BOM maintenance in SAP/ERP, and generate MIS/KPI reports for operational excellence.

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to generate a detailed production schedule based on the production plan to make the best use of resources and meet established production specifications and schedules. Each day, you will feed information on production capacity issues and material availability. You will also showcase your skills by releasing manufacturing work orders.

The work model for the role is: – Onsite

This role is contributing to the Automation – Energy division in-Bangalore-Nelamangala region in India. Main stakeholders are production, Procurement, Inventory, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, Maintenance teams, and Vendors.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Develop and manage production plans and schedules to meet customer delivery commitments and manufacturing targets.
