Job summary

Aroma Agrotech is seeking a seasoned Production Planner to manage paddy and rice stock, create plant-wise production schedules, and optimize milling throughput. The role involves coordinating across procurement, maintenance, and sales to meet export and domestic commitments.

You will lead resource planning, monitor yields, and ensure timely packaging and dispatch while complying with export standards. A strong background in basmati/rice milling is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Technology, or Industrial/Production Management.
• MBA in Operations preferred.
• 8+ years in production planning with 3+ years in basmati or rice milling.

Responsibilities

• Analyse paddy and finished-rice stock across all plants and warehouses, ageing as needed.
• Convert sales orders and export contracts into weekly/monthly production plans for each site.
• Plan export production around container schedules and buyer specs (grain length, moisture, brightness, packaging).
• Plan all resources (machines, manpower, shifts, materials, power, working capital, time).
• Track stock against the plan and flag material shortfalls early to prevent plant stoppages.
• Coordinate with maintenance to schedule planned shutdowns without affecting targets.
• Monitor daily output, milling yield, and machine utilisation; fix bottlenecks quickly.
• Plan packaging materials and dispatch logistics to ensure timely movement of goods.
• Manage production orders, MRP, and inventory in SAP B1; prepare MIS reports & dashboards.
• Build contingency plans for urgent exports, labour shortages, breakdowns, and seasonal changes.

Role & responsibilities

• Analyse paddy and finished-rice stock across all plants and warehouses, variety-wise., including stock ageing for aged basmati.
• Review domestic sales orders and export contracts, and turn them into weekly and monthly production plans for each site.
• Plan export production around container and shipment schedules, meeting buyer-specific specs such as grain length, broken %, moisture, and packaging.
• Plan all resources in advance: machines, manpower and shifts, raw material, packaging, power, working capital, and time.
• Track paddy and raw material stock against the production plan, and flag requirements to management early so no plant stops for lack of material.
• Coordinate with maintenance to schedule planned shutdowns without disrupting targets.
• Monitor daily output, milling yield (outturn/head rice recovery), and machine utilisation, and fix bottlenecks quickly.
• Plan packaging material (brand-wise, private label, export bags) and dispatch logistics so goods move on time.
• Manage production orders, MRP, and inventory in SAP B1, and prepare MIS reports and dashboards for management.
• Build contingency plans for urgent export orders, labour shortages, breakdowns, and seasonal changes.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Technology, or Industrial/Production Management (MBA in Operations preferred).
• [8+] years in production planning, with at least [3] years in basmati or rice milling.
• Proven experience planning across multiple plants.
• Knowledge of export quality standards and documentation-driven timelines.
• Strong knowledge of MRP, capacity planning, S&OP, and demand forecasting.
• Understanding of the paddy-to-rice process, including parboiling, milling, sorting, and grading.
• Hands-on experience with SAP Business One (production, inventory, MRP modules) and advanced Excel.
• Strong coordination skills with sales, export, maintenance, stores, and plant heads
