Job summary

The-Search-House in Mumbai is seeking a Production Manager for Liquid Cleaning Chemicals and Detergents. You will plan and manage end-to-end production, ensuring quality, safety, productivity, cost control, and timely dispatch in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include planning schedules, supervising batch processes, coordinating with QC/QA, managing a team, coordinating maintenance, and driving process improvements while upholding GMP/ISO standards.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech or Diploma in Chemical/Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering
• GMP/ISO certification is a plus

Responsibilities

• Plan daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules for liquid products as per sales and dispatch plans.
• Supervise batch manufacturing, filling, packing and labeling operations.
• Monitor production output, yields, and losses; take corrective actions to meet targets.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, BMR/BPR and process parameters.
• Coordinate with QC/QA for raw material approval, in-process checks, and final product release.
• Manage production supervisors, operators, and contract workers; allocate shifts.
• Coordinate maintenance for preventive and breakdown maintenance; minimize downtime.
• Ensure safety, hygiene, and 5S on the shop floor; handle audits and corrective actions.

To plan, manage, and control end-to-end production activities of liquid Chemicals manufacturing operations, ensuring quality, safety, productivity, cost control, and timely dispatch as per company standards.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Execution

• Plan daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules for liquid products as per sales and dispatch plans.
• Ensure smooth execution of batch manufacturing , filling, packing, and labeling operations.
• Monitor production output, yields, and losses; take corrective actions to meet targets.

Process & Quality Control

• Ensure adherence to SOPs, BMR/BPR, and process parameters for liquid manufacturing.
• Coordinate with QC/QA for raw material approval, in-process checks, and final product release.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO, FSSAI / FDA (as applicable) standards.

Manpower & Team Management

• Manage production supervisors, operators, and contract workers.
• Allocate manpower shift-wise to meet production targets.
• Conduct training on SOPs, safety, and process improvements.
• Monitor discipline, attendance, and productivity of the team.

Equipment & Maintenance Coordination

• Ensure proper operation of mixers, reactors, filling machines, conveyors, and packing machines.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance .
• Ensure minimum downtime and improve machine efficiency.

Safety, Hygiene & Compliance

• Ensure strict adherence to safety norms, PPE usage, and hygiene standards .
• Maintain housekeeping and 5S on the shop floor.
• Handle audits and implement corrective actions.

Inventory & Cost Control

• Coordinate with stores for raw material issuance and consumption control .
• Monitor wastage, spillage, and rejections; implement cost-reduction initiatives.
• Maintain accurate production and consumption records.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain daily production reports, batch records, downtime reports, and efficiency reports.
• Share MIS with management on production performance and improvement plans.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of liquid manufacturing processes (mixing, blending, filling).
• Understanding of batch manufacturing, density calculations, and yield control .
• Good leadership and people management skills.
• Hands-on experience with process improvement and productivity enhancement .
• Good coordination with QC, Maintenance, Stores, and Dispatch teams.

Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech / Diploma in Chemical / Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering.
• Additional certification in GMP / ISO is an advantage.

Experience

• 8 years of experience in liquid manufacturing industry only .
• Minimum 3–5 years in a Production Manager / Senior Production role .
