Job summary

Hindustan Construction Chemicals is seeking a hands-on Production Engineer - Construction Chemicals to oversee formulation support, production and quality checks in our manufacturing unit.

The role focuses on supervising daily production, optimizing formulations, and ensuring material quality and process efficiency across tile adhesives, waterproofing and related products.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of relevant experience in construction chemicals, dry-mix mortar, cement-based products, adhesives, waterproofing or related manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience in formulation, production and quality control of construction chemical products preferred.
• Candidates with tile adhesives, grouts, ready-mix plaster, block joining mortar, waterproofing, floor hardeners, repair mortars or similar products preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise day-to-day production of construction chemical products.
• Handle production of tile adhesives, block joining mortar, ready-mix plaster, waterproofing chemicals, floor hardeners, microconcrete and related products.
• Develop, modify, optimize and standardize product formulations based on performance, cost and raw material availability.
• Conduct laboratory trials and scale up successful formulations for plant production.
• Evaluate and test raw materials and ensure consistency and suitability for production.
• Monitor weighing, batching, mixing and manufacturing processes to maintain batch-to-batch consistency.
• Perform quality checks of raw materials, in-process batches and finished products.
• Identify and troubleshoot production and product-quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Support product development, new product trials and improvement of existing products.
• Optimize formulations and production processes to reduce wastage and improve manufacturing efficiency.
• Maintain batch records, production records, SOPs and quality documentation.
• Coordinate with production workers and manage day-to-day factory activities.
• Assist in resolving technical issues and customer/product complaints through proper investigation and corrective action.
• Ensure proper handling, storage and use of raw materials and finished products.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

• 2-5 years of relevant experience in construction chemicals, dry-mix mortar, cement-based products, adhesives, waterproofing or related manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience in formulation, production and quality control of construction chemical products will be strongly preferred.
• Candidates with experience in tile adhesives, grouts, ready-mix plaster, block joining mortar, waterproofing, floor hardeners, repair mortars or similar products are preferred.
• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering/Chemical Technology, M.Sc./B.Sc. Chemistry or a relevant technical qualification.
• Candidates from Civil/Materials background with strong relevant construction-chemical experience may also be considered.
