Manage and optimize cement and concrete-related technical activities at construction sites and RMC plants, ensuring consistent product quality, performance, cost optimization, and compliance with applicable standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lab / In-house Testing
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of raw materials and other additives.
- Monitor admixture manufacturing parameters and support process optimization.
- Conduct and review tests for fineness, setting time, standard consistency, and compressive strength.
- Monitor production batches and verify consistency with approved quality and performance requirements.
- Develop and optimize admixture formulations and raw-material proportions.
- Analyze laboratory and production data to identify quality deviations.
- Coordinate with Production and Quality teams to resolve technical issues.
- Support cost optimization and reduction in manufacturing and formulation costs.
- Ensure compliance with applicable BIS/IS, ASTM, and other relevant standards.
- Prepare technical reports, test reports, and quality documentation.
2. RMC Plant Site Support
- Develop and optimize products and concrete solutions as per site requirements.
- Conduct trials for different concrete grades such as M20, M25, M30, M35, M40, M50, and above.
- Monitor slump, workability, setting time, cube strength, density, and durability.
- Conduct laboratory and site trials for new mix designs.
- Monitor concrete quality from batching through delivery at the project site.
- Troubleshoot issues related to low strength, segregation, bleeding, slump variation, setting time, and workability.
- Coordinate with Site Engineers, QA/QC, Production, and Dispatch teams.
- Conduct customer and site visits when required to provide technical support.
- Analyze cube test results and maintain quality records.
3. RD / Product Development
- Develop and optimize cementitious products, concrete mixes, and construction-material solutions.
- Evaluate new raw materials and admixtures.
- Conduct competitor benchmarking and product performance comparisons.
- Conduct laboratory and plant-scale trials.
- Support scale-up from laboratory trials to commercial production.
- Identify opportunities for performance improvement and cost reduction.
Preferred Qualification
B.E. / B.Tech. in Civil Engineering / Chemical Engineering / Cement Technology / M.Sc. Chemistry or equivalent.

- Strong knowledge of cement chemistry and concrete technology.
- Good understanding of cement manufacturing and RMC operations.
- Knowledge of concrete mix design and concrete technology.
- Practical knowledge of cement and concrete testing.
- Knowledge of BIS/IS standards, ASTM standards, and relevant testing procedures.
- Understanding of chemical admixtures, mineral admixtures, supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs), aggregates, clinker, and cement additives.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to interpret laboratory and plant test data.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
Preferred Candidate Profile
Candidates with hands-on experience in both Cement Plants and RMC Plants will be preferred.
