Job summary

RGBSI is seeking a highly experienced Production & Material Planner in Mumbai to lead end-to-end planning for raw materials and production scheduling. The role coordinates between Production, Supply Chain, and Customer Support to ensure on-time delivery of stationary and rail battery product lines.

The ideal candidate should have 15+ years in planning, strong ERP/MRP proficiency, and hands-on experience in heavy manufacturing sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in production planning, materials management, or supply chain roles.
• Experience in battery, electrical, automotive, or heavy manufacturing sectors preferred.
• Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed production plans from orders, forecasts, and capacity.
• Convert customer requirements into weekly and daily schedules.
• Monitor adherence to production plans and address variances.
• Plan, forecast, and control raw materials and components for battery manufacturing.
• Maintain planning data in ERP/MRP and generate dashboards.
• Collaborate with procurement to place timely purchase orders.
• Prepare periodic reports on material status and inventory health.

Position Overview

The Production & Material Planner is responsible for end-to-end planning of raw materials, production scheduling, and coordination with the Customer Support team to ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders. Acting as the single point of contact (SPOC) between Production, Supply Chain, and Customer Support teams, this role ensures seamless production flow and on-time delivery for stationary and rail battery product lines.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed production plans based on customer orders, forecasts, and plant capacity.
• Convert customer requirements into actionable weekly and daily production schedules.
• Monitor adherence to production plans and address variances proactively.
• Plan, forecast, and control raw materials and critical components required for battery manufacturing.
• Act as the single point connect between the Production Planning function and the Customer Support team.
• Review customer orders, delivery schedules, and change requests ensuring alignment with production capabilities.
• Lead planning meetings with Production, Quality, Procurement, Stores, and Logistics teams.
• Maintain and update planning data in ERP/MRP systems and generate dashboards.
• Monitor consumption patterns and adjust plans to meet changing demand.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels to balance cost efficiency and production continuity.
• Implement measures to reduce excess, obsolete, and non-moving stock.
• Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely placement of purchase orders.
• Prepare and present periodic reports on material status, shortages, and inventory health.
• Adhere to company policies, quality standards, and statutory requirements.
• Support audits and maintain compliance records for material planning activities
