Job summary

RGBSI is seeking a seasoned Production & Material Planner in Kolkata to lead end-to-end planning of raw materials, production scheduling, and collaboration with Customer Support. You will serve as the SPOC between Production, Supply Chain, and Customer Support to ensure on-time delivery for stationary and rail battery product lines.

The role requires 15+ years in planning or materials management, hands-on ERP/MRP experience, and a strong ability to prioritize in a fast-paced manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in production planning, materials management, or supply chain roles.
• Experience in battery, electrical, automotive, or heavy manufacturing sectors preferred.
• Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed production plans based on customer orders, forecasts, and plant capacity.
• Convert customer requirements into actionable weekly and daily production schedules.
• Monitor adherence to production plans and address variances proactively.
• Plan, forecast, and control raw materials and critical components required for battery manufacturing.
• Act as the single point connect between the Production Planning function and the Customer Support team.
• Review customer orders, delivery schedules, and change requests ensuring alignment with production capabilities.
• Lead planning meetings with Production, Quality, Procurement, Stores, and Logistics teams.
• Maintain and update planning data in ERP/MRP systems and generate dashboards.
• Monitor consumption patterns and adjust plans to meet changing demand.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels to balance cost efficiency and production continuity.
• Implement measures to reduce excess, obsolete, and non-moving stock.
• Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely placement of purchase orders.
• Prepare and present periodic reports on material status, shortages, and inventory health.
• Adhere to company policies, quality standards, and statutory requirements.
• Support audits and maintain compliance records for material planning activities
